    Aussiespeed

He wanted an initial investment of 10 grand and right now I think that is a little too much for the car market right now. I was looking at an initial investment of 5 grand so I could test the market and then go larger from there.

    Aussiespeed

Oh I know about the shipping cost from Aussie to me. I am waiting to hear back to see what my cost on the parts would be. I have a few pennies laying around and am thinking about doing a test run with a small investment if they let me. I just have to wait and see.

    Aussiespeed

Aussiespeed is looking for a US Distributor. I have a lot of spare time and was wondering what interest there would be in slant six parts if I became a distributor? I don't know what my cost would be but I do imagine it would be a lot cheaper since the shipping charge would be substantially...

    12 Second N/A Slant 6?

Kind of off topic but this has been the best thread in the slant six section in a long time. I have been kind of staying away from the slant six section due to the lack of people pushing the limits. Wagon, thanks for starting this thread and to everyone commenting, thanks for the information...

    12 Second N/A Slant 6?

I might be more excited about this build than you powerwagon. I am going with a turbo setup but have been thinking about building a slant powered altered here soon and would like to do it without boost and maybe a small shot of spray.

    12 Second N/A Slant 6?

why don't you try to cut down the weight even more? Are you running a full interior, original gas tank, and all original sheetmetal?

    12 Second N/A Slant 6?

This build needs to get started so we can see some results

    12 Second N/A Slant 6?

I say go for it. If you do not make it into the 12s than you still will have a strong 13s car easily. Keep us posted on the build and good luck!

    12 Second N/A Slant 6?

So this has got me thinking about building the most wild naturally aspirated slant six. If I had unlimited money and just wanted to do something crazy I would... Lighten the rotating assembly Have custom rods made Have custom pistons made Port and polish the head and use the biggest valves...

    12 Second N/A Slant 6?

I say bump the compression way up, do some head work, and make it run on E-85 then making 260 horsepower is pretty possible. Any more power than that, you will need to do custom pistons, custom rods, and some crank work. Search google for naturally aspirated slant sixes and I think mopar...

    12 Second N/A Slant 6?

You would have to shave a lot of weight and build a pretty high-compression engine. Something in the 12.0:1 or probably higher

    Question for the turbo Guys

yeah I looked around a little and found that they are all 3/8npt but some were 1/4"npt but it was still a 3/8" npt with a reducer.

    Question for the turbo Guys

What size fittings do I need for the oil feed line to the turbo. I know to use the oil pressure sending unit location but what size npt is it?

    Holley 390 4bbl on my slant 6?

Lokar is what I am going with too. Its not cheap but everyone swears by them.

    Holley 390 4bbl on my slant 6?

You could go with the 390cfm carb and just disconnect the secondaries so you run it like a 2 barrel. You could also adapt the offy manifold with a carb adapter so you can just run a 2 barrel. Either way you are going to have to redo the throttle linkage and trans kick down.

Finally getting started now that it is warmer

Turbowerx Oil Pump came today. This should be the last expensive part I need to buy (hopefully). Everything else is just going to nickel and dime me.

Finally getting started now that it is warmer

I am really going to try and have it up at the fair grounds. My shop is on the same street as the fair grounds so if it isn't running then I might tow it up there.

Finally getting started now that it is warmer

Carb is all back together finally. Had to file a a couple small sections down on the carb to make the carb hat and spacer fit but everything fits nice and snug now. I might have to machine the spacer down a little to make it fit under the hood but for right now it looks good.

Finally getting started now that it is warmer

Accel pump and cam are both stock right now. I have been debating stepping it up to a 50cc pump and buying a tuning kit for it to try out different cams. The carb is a 350 cfm. The blower is massive and last year the car was running way too hard and it had problems hooking up. This year the...

Finally getting started now that it is warmer

Got a little work done today forming the pipes for the turbo manifold but got side tracked learning how to install the new clutch setup on the funny car.

Finally getting started now that it is warmer

The carburetor is machined, PVCR circuit at 1/16", 6.5" pv, #68 jets, nitrophyl float, choke arm and main wells / idle wells sealed according to the hangar18 mods, and vent tube extension made. Just waiting on the new gaskets to arrive so I can reassemble everything back together. Still have a...

Finally getting started now that it is warmer

I went to drill out the pvcr and it is already at 1/16" so I am just going to leave it alone. The carb is brand new so maybe the 2 barrel carbs have a slightly larger pvcr.

    Headers

That makes sense to me and I guess with the slant being a torque motor then correct sizing would be a bennefit. Thanks!

    Headers

805moparkid - What is your thing with larger header tubes? I am not trying to attack you or anything like that because I read your post all the time and you have a lot of great knowledge. I just am wondering. If you have some articles on proper header tube size then I would be really...

thanks for the link and I might have to give that a try before I send my distributor out to be recurved. Is locking out the distributor easy?

    SL6 Gear Drive

I am sure he would be using an idler gear. I have actually never seen a gear drive without an idler gear. The advantage is they are extremely acurate and they do not wear out. I belt drive setup would be something to look at too. They are easy to replace and they require no oiling.
