Is Pine Valley Track near Lufkin closed??

There isn't a whole lot of information forthcoming, that's for sure. I noticed in the comments that you'll need to bring fifty greenbacks to test and tune. It looks like the bridge on FM 2497 is finally completed though. What a pain in the *** that was last year! Hudson PD didn't have much of...

Is Pine Valley Track near Lufkin closed??

Pine Valley Raceway last year it seemed like there was an old facebook page that wasn't kept up any longer. The old website for PineValley went cold too. Management has changed hands a couple times since 2021 and things still seem a little shaky. This link has some recent activity however...

How fast would you like to go.

Im in the no roll cage camp too. But pretty sure if i paid attention to details and got serious I could chip away enough to see 11.99.

    Tuning for WOT

appreciate that ^^^. I will explore the brakes (adjusters particularly) and try higher rpms at the track with slicks to see if I can get it to stay on the line closer to 2700 rpm. As long as everything continues to be equal with track conditions..... If I may be so bold with the PO's...

    Tuning for WOT

So the car wont sit still past 2100 with the brakes applied in my driveway and while I apply more and more gas. So help me understand exactly what flash and stall means in the context of a torque converter. The dynamic 9.5 claims that it stalls above 3800. when I hit the gas from a stand...

    Tuning for WOT

Please advise; if your brakes will not hold the car still much past 2100 rpm (in the driveway), your TC flashes @ around 3800, and your peak power is around 5400, are you sayin' I should try to get the brakes to hold better rather than rely on the TC to get me to the right spot at the light?

    soft 60' times

I am just out there having fun really, and off the gas the moment that I realize Im not sticking it. When the real drivers are having close calls, i often called it a night. Last Friday went well for everyone I saw run. I will have to have someone record my launches if this continues.

    soft 60' times

yes sir; I will blame the pit crew and driver for consistently soft 60 footers. In the past my local track would allow everything and anything out there for test and tune. I've seen cars dripping water from the A/C at the tree and on several occasions pickups would shake half a ton of dirt...

Post your 12 second small block combos

picked the kids up from daycare, had dinner, swapped my tires and went to the track for test and tune last night. It was a rare 58* with low humidity with that crazy full moon! Anyway I snuck into the 12's on my first run and I still had two baby seats in the car!!! it's a 373 (340 with...

Things you did/upgraded that surprised you how helpful they were

I'm a street car with aspirations of decent strip times. Im mostly having fun really. My favorite 2 surprise upgrades so far.... 1) eliminating the vacuum advance and backing off my street timing a few degrees. 2) and this homemade thing has saved my *** every time I go for 3rd in the thick...

    Post your 13 sec combos

ok here it goes: I have slips from July of 2011 to March of 2019. My goal had been to get just over into the twelves but I never made it with my setup. 13.31 was the run that should've been the one but I was late on the tree. I started with a 1976 360 in 2011 but I broke that pretty early...

Dustin off this fossil..... So I'm driving home one summer evening in Waycross Georgia and trying to catch up with an old tea bucket. When I finally do, we're side by side at a light. The driver is prolly my age and he's got what I assumed was his teenaged son next to him. The kid is...

    Pine Valley Raceway

Took my fiance for a couple test&tune passes. She had a good time. Which pretty much means we can go again! Can't wait I had a flat on a rental car out near DeRidder. the company had me limp all the way to Dupree's for repairs. They were pretty awesome too. DW

Results: well I did only get to race it on two occasions but traffic was light and I got to run it a bunch of times! Jaws you were right it was wicked fun! Most important I learned alot about the car I just picked up last April. The first set was July (about 9 passes!) The only thing I bought...

quite right also! it's a street rod and thats it. Since I don't drive it to work everyday, I'm willing to go with a slightly less efficient cruising converter and it needs some tranny attention anyway. The real issue is that organized racing locally may end this year and I didn't want to get too...

I would only be running on an 1/8th (cuz that's all there is in Forks) am I worried about absolute top end speed or just getting good at the first 60'? I guess the question is aimed at that gear ratio. (and what appears to be the importance of a good strong tranny) Also ya'll, tell me this...

I think I'm seeing more tranny and less tires. Actually when you consider the word "used" with slicks it gets real difficult finding something that fits or is worth anything! Putting the money in the tranny seems smarter, long term, anyway. Would you leave the spare and jack in the back for...

I will get that ratio while I'm adjusting the rear brakes! new disks in the front and all new everything in the back but I think they're a little soft for bein' new. what about gas? I can get "racing fuel" here in town. I was thinking mixing in at least a third with the crummy stuff I get at...

Yeah I think the tranny could use it anyway. I'm getting about 14.5 mpg with current set up and with prices the way they are, I don't want to go backwards there. what rpm converter would be good for the track and still be ok on the road? the gear ratio: thats a good question. whoever put this...

Let's say I only ever get to go racing once or twice, ever. I have no delusions of getting 1/8 mile time under 7.36 (and won't want a roll bar in my car anyway) Where would you put the first essential $1000 to make an impression or at least not get smoked by a ricky'd out honda? keep in mind...
