yes i do have butyl in between the gasket and the glass...as far as the drain holes go, thank you for mentioning that with the picture, that helps! i had no idea of that before! also, thats what my next plan was, to ooze a bunch in between the window and gasket under where the trim would go...

yea i guess it is my only option. My old seals seem to be in pretty good shape, but they probably are alot harder than new stuff obviously. Its just that money is getting tight and i dont want to spend the money and not have it work. ah well, live an learn i guess

hey guys, one of the things left to button up on the scamp is addressing the leaks coming in from the top of the side windows. Ive adjusted the windows and doors to the point where there is still water getting in. I reused the old window channel weatherstrip since it was still in good shape...

i cant say i have a suggestion for the paint except clean it up/ clay bar/ polish/ wax and save for new paint...but when it comes to wheels, i think the ones you have now have way more going for them then a set of rallyes or steelies..if anything those will make the car look more boring...

in my opinion why restrict yourself to what the designers thought looked good? ive seen lots of nice cars (even new cars) with a limited colour selection, none of which i liked on the car...in my opinion, to paint your car the factory colour because the factory thought it looked good so it must...

Hey guys, gotta order a set of hood pins and im wondering what size pins you guys are using? I have the factory dimples and i have options for 3/8, 1/2, and 7/16 hood pins and id like to go with something stock sized...also i need to know how long the pins need to be for a stock hood (71...

in my experience with brake cleaner, it is someting i would NEVER use to clean paint LOL...remove it though is a different story:toothy10:

what colour you painting it? i got a black bumblebee to still put on mine when its complete (got it from challenger gary for a really good price)..i say it depends on the colour you do...i felt i needed one to match the hood and break up the intenseness of the green

well i tried it out and sure enough it is working, but only on some of the overspray...gotta really work at it, but i think it will work...if not ill have to wetsand it, but im not gonna give up on it yet...gonna wait till spring to finish it though, because my finger tips were turning to ice...

the car has not been waxed yet...so will i be removing straight paint then? and i thought the wax was to seal it and the polish was to get out any swirls or scratches left by the clay bar (not sure if there is gonna be any)

hey guys thanks for all the replies! i will try the clay bar then...the paint is fresh as in its nice and new, but it has been painted since april of this year so its definatly settled...if the clay bar doesnt work what compound should i try? and how do i use compound? just rub on and wipe off?

well the idiot that i am i did some spray painting near the scamp and got slight overspray on my nice new paintjob...ARGH! anyways, i didnt notice it until it dried, and it is black paint so you can see it on the green paint...they are just small dots, but i need a way to get em off without...

yes thats what it would be. Id have to call them i guess and see if they do the 70 dart rear bumper...which distributor did you get yours from? and about the actual bumper, did it go on okay without any fitment problems, or does it leave some to be desired?

how is the quality of their stuff usually? like fit and finish wise? because if i can get both bumpers for 600 bucks, than thats even cheaper that what i would have to pay for rechroming which is great! are there any other companies out there reproducing them or any really good chrome companies...

Over the winter id like to do something about the bumper situation on my scamp as they arent looking the greatest...I am toying with the idea of glass bumpers, but i havent fully decided on that yet...Chroming prices around my parts are absolutly ridiculous and chroming places are far and few...

Looks good man! i read through the whole thread and saw the pics too and it looked pretty rough in the beginning....it reminded me of when i primered my car twice and both times ended up with severe bubbling from doing it myself....in the end though i ended up saving it and the paint job came...

i was using a screwdriver, but i stopped because i felt like i would be ruining things....where can i get that tool in the picture?
