I would too with the IAT on fire. Worst thing about a W/I system is that you're never really sure its working. I say your's may not be. Whats the deal with the A/F? Trim % goes up 10% but the measured A/F never changes. +3% to +14.8% but A/F doesn't move more than .1. Then the the Trim %...

ok but think through as to why and it'll help you understand how the system is working. Under boost there's nearly no difference. Its only at idle and cruise that there's a HUGE difference.

There's 0 difference to the amount of boost getting to the fpr at WOT if the fpr vac line is connected to the intake, throttle body, carb hat or turbo. Big difference out of boost, but that's not the issue.

Small injector CANNOT cause the fuel pressure to drop. The injector duty cycle would max out and A/F will go lean but there'd be no drop in fuel pressure The dropping fuel pressure is a fuel supply issue

Doesn't matter so much what it does at idle because fuel demand is minimal then. Crank it up and see if it holds under boost, where fuel demand is its highest AND where you're having the issues. You'll be bypassing the diaphragm/boost line function by cranking it up manually and eliminating 1...

What about the filter between the sump and the pump? Where's the boost ref line connected? Is there anything connected with it? such as Boost controller? Can you manually force the regulator to say 60-70psi and have it hold? or did you do that already?

The REAL Bosch 044 isn't E85 safe so it doesn't last long and there's are tons of fakes, counterfeits and low quality copies. Noone I tune uses it anymore. The Walbro 450s are a significant upgrade but its an in-take pump. For any external pump, you need to keep the pump's inlet BELOW the...

I know. I saw it too. But that value isn't real. Its just calculated. It wouldn't change if the fuel pressure was 100psi or 10psi,,,,Now A/F sure as hell would change but that "fuel flow" value would not. If you still have your SRT-4 and predator, its the same too. The Srt-4 has dozens of "Fuel...

The FiTEC has NO WAY of directly measuring "fuel flow". Those values are just calculated. Its what the Fitech THINKS its injectors are spitting out,,,,IF the fuel pressure was correct,,,,which it is NOT.

What?? Its BS. Certainly Not if the Fuel pressure is dropping under Boost at WOT. The gauge could be very inaccurate but registering a falling PSI, whatever that value is, is typically a fuel supply issue

This it what I tell my customers on E85 over 400whp . If you have one of the 3 crap filters on the bottom, I've had countless of issues with them clogging and dropping fuel pressure

I'd say you're damn lucky you haven't melted a piston yet. I said this to you before, you need to get the Fuel Map corrected such that the Fitech doesn't have to ADD huge amounts of fuel but is REMOVING a 5-10% Fuel

    Ebay GT45 + 5.9 Magnum + E85 blow thru

Yeah that's what I figured. The trims sticking dead nuts at an even 50% seemed suspicious. You can leave the MAX at 50% but add extra fuel so that the working Trim is much, much lower than the Max,,,preferably negative like -10%. If I were tuning it, id NEVER have the ECU have to ADD fuel at...

Also,,Speed density system CANNOT account for changing exhaust restrictions that alter VE. So a shift in A/F Lean is common when uncorking a closed system that maybe limiting output, at least in open loop Also exhaust pressure alters a wide band's accuracy, assuming its even accurate to begin...

Low 12s isnt really that lean for E85 at that low of boost. I tune 600whp 4cyl around 11.8-12.1 on E85 all day. I haven't messed with FiTech but 50% trim seems REALLY high. Are you sure you're not hitting a trim cap? Regardless, the high trim % is screaming at you to "FIX THE MAP!" The...

    Switch to E85

No just like Gas there's no one size fits all A/F. Again, I tune a few hundred turbo 4cly a year and most are on E85(400-600whp), i have plenty of experience with it. Stick in the 11.5-12.0 range for your low boost V8 and you'll be fine.

    Switch to E85

Sorry but high 10s is just pig Rich on E85, even with a high boost Turbo. On +600whp turbo 4cly, I've picked up over 20whp just leaning A/F out to high 11s.
  24. myduster360

    Switch to E85

That thread is interesting but can easily confuse the a new user to E85. Most of those guys are running +800whp, Carbureted Big Blocks, so the context is a but skewed when trying to "convert" it to lower whp small blocks. T56MaxTorq's 11.5:1 is more than safe for a starting point. 24 degrees...

Should I bother with a divided merge?

That seems a bit more straightforward as long as you could package it
  26. myduster360

Should I bother with a divided merge?

Since the cylinders are already separated by the time they get to the collector, I'm skeptical that keeping them separated for a few more inches before reaching the turbo flange will make a perceptible difference in spool. Regardless, what I do know for sure is if you don't merge 4 into 1, to...
  27. myduster360

Should I bother with a divided merge?

I would say the true design intent is to evenly split and accelerate the total available gas flow so that the turbine nozzle sees a near constant mass flow. Pulsed flow to a turbine just results in pulsed acceleration of the turbine. i just don't see how alternating one half of the turbine...
  28. myduster360

Should I bother with a divided merge?

I'd just go 4-1 and let the Turbine draw from all 4 cylinders. It don't agree that the design intent of most divided turbines is that 1 side only see 2 pulses per cycle.

You are using a Boost Controller, correct? If so, all boost controllers, both manual and electronic, BLEED boost off your WG so that it stays shut longer and raises Boost above the WG spring pressure. So if you're running 7psi but your WG spring is rated for say 4psi, then the WG is only...
