Honest feedback on wheel/tire combo please

I'm older than anyone else has admitted to and I like them. They're based on a classic design and the tires have sufficient sidewall to still look appropriate on your Demon. JMO

    Modern Tires

A couple of months ago our club Treasurer had a blowout on his '69 GTX. Ended up wrinkling the passenger front fender and messed up some bracing underneath. Turns out his tires were 17 years old. They still looked good on the outside and showed lots of tread.

Thanks! Centerline "Nomad". They only made them for a short time - I guess they weren't that popular. I liked them because they had a lot of 'back in the day' slot mag look but updated a bit. Another thing I liked about them was they were cold-forged rather than cast. I was surprised at how...

Comparing Rocket fuel polished to Vision 5 legend chrome

Here's something to consider for chromed wheels: Several years ago we purchased a new car with chromed factory wheels. After several years we had one wheel/tire that developed a slight leak. It turned out that the chrome on the wheel surface inside the tire had started to deteriorate and flake...

Max tire size on stock 70 Swinger

It might make a big difference as to what the Ford 9" rear is originally off of - different vehicles may have different widths. I may have missed that fact, but don't remember seeing it in the thread.

    Will these wheels work?

I had Cragars on my original '69 Dart for a lot of years without any issues with the chrome. Upkeep was very easy following a wash or wash'n'wax. Over the years I've found the upkeep on the Cragars much easier than on all-aluminum unplated wheels.

Left hand thread lugs - stay or go?

Similar story to the one from g413 above. Took my original '69 340 Swinger in for tires and they twisted 3 LH studs off the rear drum before I could stop them. My current '69 Dart build will be all RH.

Will They Fit??? Rallye Trim Rings & Caps on Cop Wheels

Hey all - I've got a friend in Australia that wants to know if 15" Rallye wheel trim rings and center caps will fit on 15" cop wheels. Anybody know for sure? I've never had stock Mopar wheels on any Mopars I've had so I don't know. Thanks in advance for the information!

    Centerline Wheels warning

Sorry to hear of your problems with the wheels you ordered through Summit. I purchased my wheels directly from Centerline several years ago and had absolutely no problem at any time. The wheels I bought were a new design for them at the time and I got a killer price because they were just being...

235/60-14 according to the online tire size conversion chart I looked at (http://www.turbinecar.com/tires.htm) BF Goodrich makes this size, according to tirerack.com. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/TireSearchResults.jsp?skipOver=true&width=235%2F&ratio=60&diameter=14

    Rims who makes them?

Not sure but those look like a wheel previously made by Weld Racing - sorry, don't remember the style name. I checked the Weld Racing website and don't see that design so they may no longer make them. Suggestion: check out Centerline at http://centerlinewheels.com/ for wheels that are still...

Is anyone running American Racing "VN402 CLASSIC 200S?" How do you like them?

I was always a fan of the American 200S wheels since they first came out in 1969 - just couldn't afford them back then. I think they look better fully polished but that's just my opinion. The wheels that look best on your ride are the ones you like best because it's your car and your money...

    help pick 17"ers on a 70 Swinger

The 15" wheel is better for ride due to a taller tire sidwall offering more "give", and for the same reason, the 17" wheel will offer better handling because of a shorter, stiffer tire sidewall. Your choice of coilover spring rate on the AlterKtion will also have an effect on both ride and...

Updated due to epic fail..Wheel Opinions please... Big wheel haters should stay away

The wheel you couldn't remember the name of is the American 200S. Check 'em out at www.summitracing.com and other websites. Looks like they come in diameters up to 17". JMO, but waaaaaaay better looking and much more appropriate for your '72 Dart than those ricer wheels of your first...

    275/60/15's on 15x7 cop wheels on a 71 Dart?

Huge difference in wheel well room between a Charger and a Dart. Back in the early-70s I owned both a '70 Charger and a '69 Dart 340 Swinger. I had L60-15 tires on back of my '70 Charger and they fit great and looked outstanding. Not a prayer of ever trying to fit that size tire in the...
