    Custom Consle

Very well done! It has a nice late 60's, early 70's feel to it and goes with well with the rest of the car.

This may sound crazy but I've used toothpaste and a foam pad on a drill. :)

    Get a Grip!

Naaaa.... .45 Colt is really a pretty mild round to shoot out of a hefty single action revolver. It doesn't have near the kick that a .44 mag does. A 240 grain hard cast, lead semi-wadcutter bullet in a mild load (850-900fps) will drill right through a buffalos leg bone at 50 yards. It's an...

    Get a Grip!

Im sure you could find a GOOD gunsmith in your area with references who can make you set for a reasonable price and just may take the job on to broaden their horizons. Bring pics of the Cuda too, they may give you a discount if you show the finished version on here. Everyone likes more business...

    Get a Grip!

If I were you I'd go with Buffalo Horn. It's a great grip medium for a real six shooter and I think it would perfect for the Ramcharger. Let me see if I can find pics.. The last is buffalo marble horn which is freaking stunning. Nothing tougher either.

    Removing Rearview Mirror Mount

it's not an a-body but this question should apply to any car. On my Jeep Cherokee the rearview mirror mount is glued to the windshield way too low and the mirror obstructs my vision at intersections. How can I remove it without breaking the windshield? Will acetone dissolve the adhesive?

Here's one from checker. http://www.partsamerica.com/ProductDetail.aspx?MfrCode=SYL&MfrPartNumber=1892 I'm suprised you haven't found at your local NAPA, Checker or Auto Zone as they are pretty common and should be in stock.

    Blessed Again

Good deal BW! Just an hour or ago I finished up my garage wiring. I was having a smoke admiring my handiwork when the kid who's been remodeling my house shows up. Turns out he broke his shifter off on his ford truck. He was wondering if I could help him put a new shifter in. Well, I walked over...

    Headliner Installation '72 Duster

Thanks '72! I believe that Dante's has the sailboards too so I'll probaably go that route. I remember watching Boyd's show on the discovery channel and was amazed by the guys at the interior shop they sent all their cars too. They made this stuff look so easy. Excellent! That's exactly what...

    Headliner Installation '72 Duster

Aha! Found it at Dante's: http://www.dantesparts.com/abodymolded.html Now this I think I can handle! How is this attached to the roof? Would the glass still have to come out with this style of headliner? Anybody want to buy some headliner bows? lol!

    Headliner Installation '72 Duster

Thanks Grant, No, I have no patience when it comes to any material other than metal. I understand metal and why it does what it does. I don't understand cloth, it's like woman. It gets all bent out of shape and wrinkled for no apparent reason and no amount of coersion from any angle will make...

    Headliner Installation '72 Duster

Not that I'm at that point yet, but I hear that this is really a *****. The PO took the original out along with the rest of the interior, so I have no idea how this is done. So, on with the questions: 1. Is there a difference between a headliner from a '71 vs. a '72? 2. Can the headliner...

Bruce, Motorcyle chain lube works great for me and doesn't dry out. Use WD-40 to flush the old garbage out first.

    4 point harnesses,factory belts?

I believe that you are correct as I have not seen a racing a harness that was DOT approved, but they are SFI rated and dated. I would imagine that it may be a problem in states where inspections are mandatory, but I don't know for sure as I am not in an inspection mandatory state. Edit: Chuck...

    4 point harnesses,factory belts?

Excellent information Chuck. IMHO, if I build my vehicle to NHRA specs I should be safe whether on the street or track. Would anyone disagree with the above statement and if you do, please say why. This is dead serious stuff.

    4 point harnesses,factory belts?

Should shoulder belts of the 4 or more point type be mounted to the roll bar if you have one? Does someone make hardware for this? What is the NHRA stance on seatbelt mounting?
