i went back and measured the float level again, its 3/16 or pretty dang close. Went to start it again, drove it, still stumbles. not sure what to look for, the carb is "fairly" new, the records for the car show a new carb in 79, and a rebuild in 93. It does sound like the valves need...

This probably belongs here. I am going to take the distributer out to replace the points and re-time the motor, Is there a o-ring or a base gasket for the distributer that will need replacing?

I was going to my valves too, but i dont think i set min to that last time. I think mine were adjusted to .04 and .06 or so

i think the tank on the scamp is 15 gallons maybe, my engine has been rebuilt and i rebuilt the carb also.

I have tried to figure this out also. I have put a full tank in a few times, i drive 10 miles a day, leave it parked on the weekend. My gauge doesnt work so at 100 miles i fill it up. Both times i have put in 6 gallons. My commute is fairly flat also

how about the valve cover and sparl plug wires?
