The A-833 was reconfigured as an overdrive transmission using an aluminum case in 1975 and was used in Chrysler cars and trucks for added fuel economy. The overdrive version of the transmission reduced the third gear ratio to .73:1 to be used as the overdrive, and the 1:1 fourth gear became third.

I think you are referring to an auto setup and he (/6 Matt) is talking about a manual setup ??

66 and earlier the frame bracket bolts to the inner fender just above the frame rail and the holes are punched for the bolts,67 and later the frame bracket for the Z bar is welded and the hole is usually in the inner fenderwell for the ball to help locate it to be welded.

That is for the 10.5 bellhousing conversion on the early A.

Quick update - talked with a couple of the 4 speed guys (Brewer's, Passon) and they said McLoed had a bad run about two years ago of pressure plates, right about when this one was purchased. The fingers were put in incorrectly and it allows the clutch to go over center and bind up. Sounds about...

the disc appears to say made in . . . . you know where !!!!! from the looks of the disc/spring contact,the pressure plate was most likely the main issue and caused the problem. gotta love it !!!!!!

I thought the slants and 273's used the 122 tooth and the 318 340 and 360 used the 130 tooth ?? but its the bellhousing that dictates flywheel size ,I believe.

it appears to be a 70 bench seat shifter handle , I believe a 71-up b body bench seat shifter handle might work . The top one being the 71 up stick,the lower being the 70 stick JMO :burnout:

The daiphram pressure plate with the over center spring can cause this or an improperly assembled { leveraged } 3 finger will do the same . . . . Just from my experience. I have the 130 tooth flywheel with a 10.95 clutch setup in my 66 cause I beat on it and didn't want the tiny factory setup...
