    gear ratio help!

Happy I stuck with the 3:55 ratio. Driving the car 55mph I'm running 2500rpm. Can't imagine it any higher than that for around town. No doubt the 3:73 would of been too much for what I'm trying to do. Thanks for advice to all who gave their 2c :glasses7:

    gear ratio help!

I appreciate that advice. Not sure how much more of a gain I'd get around town with 3:73 but if it got annoying at highway speeds I'd be stuck. Maybe 3:55 is the best all around gear.

    gear ratio help!

Its mainly a street car. Before installing the rear end I had the gear shop tear it down and they warned me the gears were shot but I didn't have the money at the time to swap em out. A few months later, rear end in, it howls. So I'm for certain its a bad set of gears. The gear shop is...

    gear ratio help!

curious to know who's running what. i recently upgraded my 7.25 to a 8.75 that has 3:55 ratio in it. I've run the car a few times and it howls like a banshee (not in a good way). The gear shop suggested running a 3:73 ratio for some more bite. Curious to know if anyone has run that...

    Crossmember question

When you say buiscut do you mean how it looks like a little sandwhich? If so thats what the new tranny mount looks like as well. So in essence all 3 look the same. I'm wondering if spool style will give me that inch advantage that I need..

    Crossmember question

Thanks for responding. The 73 Swinger was originally a /6 car. When I bought it there was no engine/trans or driveshaft installed. So far I installed the entire K member, 318 and tranny from the 72 Valiant. Other than this trans mount issue I had minor threat with the pitman arm fitting...

    Crossmember question

To anyone reading who might be able to help. I'm using an engine + 904 tranny out of a 72 Valiant and installing into a 73 Swinger. Just about everything fits but the rear crossmember that hold up the tranny. Seems like there's about an inch difference. Does anyone know if they changed...
