2 door sedan vs 2 door hardtop vs 4 door sedan trim - 1967 Dart

I know that a lot of the back glass trim for a 4 door sedan, 2 door sedan is different from 2 door hardtop, but specifically is the stainless trim along the bottom of the back glass the same? is it the same between 2 door sedan and four door sedan? I'm working on a 67 dart two door sedan.

    71 swinger roof support

I don't know about "any more" - I don't think it ever did. I put Dynamat sound deadening in my 70 Dart GT last year and tucked it under the brace all the way side to side on all the roof braces. I don't think the brace was meant to ever touch the roof. It would rattle like a giant tin can.

1970 dodge dart driver door wont open

Sorry, thought the body was done in 2017 and engine transplant and connectors recently. Still given the symptoms and what all is confirmed to be working, I think that bind on the strike is most likely. After 7 years, maybe a tight tolerance has just closed up with time.

1970 Dart Custom, right? a rare car. If you need any 70 Custom specific trim, send a PM... love that interior!

1970 dodge dart driver door wont open

I will bet that the changes in drive train were significant enough to let the body sag until the subframe connectors came into play. The latch is pushing down on the strike and even though you release it, the bind is such that the latch isn't releasing from the strike. Once you get it open...

    Paint and Assembly Process Advice

like forphorty we always paint all the bolt on panels separately and install them after the rest of the car is painted. You get a better wrap around of paint on the edges and I've never found a way to paint the shell assembled with all the underhood stuff installed and not have paint get around...

Swinger script with a dot not a flower

I ended up with a pair of Swinger emblems that just have a dot over the 'i' instead of the usual flower. Does anybody know what year these came on??? Do they go with a specific sub model?

1970 Swinger 340 with light green butt stripe

In the video it looks black - must be the light. I have had some long back and forths with Joel Cooper about door panels in these 70 Darts. There are 2 different sets that match the seats. (VIN) LL cars (all Swingers but 340s) have a basic set and then LH cars (2 door Customs and GTs) have a...

1970 Swinger 340 with light green butt stripe

Many years ago a friend bought a badly deteriorated 1970 340 Dart. In the end the body was so compromised with rust he sold it and we lost track of it. It had a broadcast sheet and fender tag and when we decoded it all the car came in F4 green with a "light metalic green" butt stripe. I had...

Have you ever seen any Dart, Valiant, Demon or Duster with a rear window defroster?

I wonder how tough it would be to put a heat element in one of those rear window defogger set ups? it could be put in line in the big blower hose in a steel shell. You would need a fail safe that kept it from over heating...

Wow, can't believe how much these have gone up...

around Christmas each year Legendary does a 25% off sale if you can wait that long. You are right to "not cheap out". I had a set of legendary bench seat covers and a seam split after 3 years. They had me take the affected cover off and ship it back and they fixed it all making sure of an...

    Vinyl top Trim Clips

there is a place in each trim piece that allows you to slide the clips into the trim. The long thin arm springs the clip into place so it doesn't fall out. the plastic bit seals the hole closed, but you might want to put a dab of sealer around the holes to help that. you don't say what car...

Repainting Twin scoops and go wing

Not all black - the V21 option on 70 Darts runs the black from body ridge to body ridge on the hood and carries the black over the cowl and under the lower windshield trim. Whether you paint the whole hood or do the factory pattern, carry the black to the windshield - IMHO it looks cheap not to...

Door Reassembly, Vent Wing Adjusting Rod Retainer

My 70 Darts just had a strip of closed cell foam like in as in post#9. I think they changed from the felt because the felt can absorb water and hold it next to the threaded part of the adjuster. make sure you use closed cell as opposed to open cell because open absorbs water just like the...

New felt for glass run channel install?

look at the fourth picture down in my post and at the bottom right of the window you will see the scribe that I used - grabbed with a glove, heated the tip and carefully made the hole - leaves a ring of thicker plastic around the hole.

New felt for glass run channel install?

And yes it took a month of repeatedly rolling the windows up and down while gripping the glass at the top behind the vent window, pulling up and then pushing down to get it to loosen up in both the sets of felts and nylon guides that I have installed, but eventually it has worked fine and...

New felt for glass run channel install?

I think you are dreaming... The glass has to come out the bottom - the only way to do this is to remove the vent window/window frame from the door, install the glass in the channel with the felt and nylon guides and then reinstall the whole thing in one piece. It is particularly not easy because...

340 six pack hood closing clearance?

Edelbrock used to have something on their web page that compared intake height for all of their manifolds and stock intakes. One nut above, one nut below with a star washer below the fender . If you can get the bottom nut started, you can usually pull up and the star washer will let you screw the post in and out of the bottom nut without having to hold it. Yeah it's a pain to snake your arm up and get it started. Do...
