What price are they asking? If you don't mind used, you should call Paul at Don Scharf Automotive. They do Viper recycling and will sell you a Viper T-56 cheaper than you can get one from American Powertrain (just guessing that since I haven't compared).

You can do a conversion WAY cheaper than that by sourcing everything yourself and shopping around.

Can you convert one of those to a floater? If you are serious, that would be the best route to go to prevent axle knock-back.

Though there are opinions and legitimate arguments that a well setup stick axle is just as good if not better than IRS, IRS is way cool and I can't wait to get mine setup and tuned. For all the fabwork your doing Andrew, pick up an LX rear and go to town.

Definitely a GREAT idea. I love it when people do something different with a Mopar. A trans-axle would be a really cool swap.
