Finally got the nerve to tackle removing the shifter tube from my steering column and while I have it torn down waiting to be painted and reassembled, I was wondering if there are any components in there that I can leave out. The car is wired as a race car, so it has no turn signals, hazards...

Holy old thread bump, but I'm in the middle of tearing my column apart to take the shifter tube out. How did you end up securing the shifter collar to the column?

i'll let ya know how it goes when I replace my tired springs with the spare SS springs my dad has ;)
