Ok I could use some input. There's a whine when I'm running in 4th gear that's there as long as the trans is engaged with your foot on or off the pedal. If you put it in neutral, let the clutch out and coast it's quite. Sounds like the whine is coming from the back but since it goes away...

Has anyone used this as a replacement and how well does it work? I was going to put the original pumpkin back in after I have someone go thru it and thought it might be a good idea to replace the axel bearings while I'm at it.

I want to change the pumpkin in my 8-3/4 limited slip rearend. I've never pull one. I assume all I have to do is, drain the rearend, pull the two axels, take the cirlcle of nuts/bolts off around the pumpkin and pull it out. Reverse order to reassemble. Right? It doesn't seem real...
