Just resealed my TRW/THOMPSON P.S. pump. Sharing info.

Hope this helps someone. the most obvious ways to tell if you have a TRW or Federal pump, the look similar at first glance. The Federal has a threaded hole in the shaft where the pulley goes on. The TRW has no hole. I've posted a rear view also. I got my kit from Rock Auto. They list a Federal...

What makes a P.S. pump not pump?

About 3 years ago I pulled a leaking Federal pump off my son's Duster and replaced it with one from my stash. I stuck it in a box and put it away. Flash forward to now. The pump on my other son's Dart developed a slow leak. I pulled the other old one down and put new shaft and reservoir seals...

Looking for new sway bar. Can I go too big??

We've been slowly upgrading my sons 70 Dart. So far we have 1.03 torsion bars, QA1 upper control arms with the extra caster built in and factory BBP disc. No shocks yet. Now I'm looking at a front bar. We don't have the tabbed lower arms so looking at a kit with bolt on tabs. I've narrowed it...

Weld on tabs Crap. Need advice on front sway bar for 70 Dart with no tabs

My son's 70 came to us with no tabs on the lower arms. I bought some of the aftermarket weld on tabs and bolted on a stock front bar. After about 5 months one of them broke. Cheap stuff, thinner metal than stock tabs. So what I'm looking for is a front bar maybe larger than stock that comes with...

Tips on installing rubber front spring eye bushings

Based on responses to my earlier post about the use of solid front leaf spring bushings, I've decided to replace them with stock rubber. After looking at the new bushings, I don't see a way to press them in just by contacting the outer steel shell. Can I just press on the center sleeve and...

Opinions wanted on solid front spring eye bushing

I picked up a pair of S.S. springs for my sons 71 Duster. The P.O. installed solid front bushings. They seem in good shape, I pulled the rotating insert out and it was greased and looks pretty good. My question is what can I expect if I run these? His car is going to be a very mild small block...

I thought I read on here somewhere that an A-body with a 318 and factory air would have the heavier duty 340 bar. Is this correct?

Need Info From Guys That Do Their Own Alignment

I'd like to gather what I need to do my own driveway alignment. I have a good Blue Point magnetic camber and caster gauge that attaches to the spindle. I've seen turntables on E-bay. Are these a must have? Also what about a toe gauge? Any tips are appreciated, Thanks.

I purchased a used PS pump and box to convert our 70 Dart to power steering. I'm looking on Rock auto at pressure hoses. They offer one with a o-ring and one with an inverted flare end that goes into the pump. I have a federal pump. Does the federal pump use one kind and the saginaw pump use...

Wheel base difference side to side

On my 70 Dart the passenger side rear tire is closer to the front lip than the driver side. I wanted to eliminate body panel differences so I measured from center of front spindle to center of rear axle. Sure enough there is almost a quarter inch difference. Front end is all new and rear leafs...
