yikes 1200 to hop up a slant 6.. whats all included for 1200 ?? why webers?? nothing else fit his intake ?? weber/inglese are expensive carbs

night rider, if you still need that radiator support for your barracuda, new member johnnyprestidge has a pretty nice one.Look under a-body parts for sale, scroll down till you see "parting several mopars" Tell him bamacuda sent ya aka David

No I'm good with the radiator support now. I'm just trying to get the linkage done. After that I can pull trim and bumpers and sand and primer.

Ok, so today we cut the floor in prep for the shifter mounting. Once we finished that we started to mount the shifter when we found out that I purchased the wrong hurst shifter!

It was for GM. Not Chrysler.

Fantastic.

Good things from today, cut the floor.

Bad things. Need new shifter.

Also, on the plus side, I got two brand new racing seats for the barracuda. Not bad actually. Going to reupholster them though.

I'm going to upload more pictures tomorrow, right now I am on another computer, so until then.

if you have a standard 4 speed trans ??? the shift would be the same,,the tail shaft mount will be different,,and so with the shifter linkage,,the shifter body it self it the same on a 4 speed side mounted tranny

Ter later testing we figured that would work. For reverse I would have to order the rod from brewers. Or find one

OK so it's Christmas time, I just got a new steering wheel, wood grain to match the pistol grip shifter.

Also for the new wheel, a Plymouth horn button.

Hood pins.

And new seats.

Now, down to the nitty gritty.

I finally made it down to cut the floor and install the shifter.

As you can see the new drivetrain is a little, crooked.

The U-joints are all greased up and ready to go.

Where I need to get cutting.
IMG_0163.jpg

Chalked out the floor based off of the old hole and dead reckoning.
IMG_0165.jpg

The floor. And the light that shocked me later. Note the taped hand grip.
IMG_0167.jpg

The floors are cut with a nice amount of room to get the linkage all squared away.

I bolted the trans to the cross-member and now it sits straight.

Next up, get the linkage all set up and get the master cylinder leak fixed to I can safely move the car. Once that is fixed, I can get the paint prep started and the primer shot.

I found a fiberglass hump on brewers along with the reverse rod I need. Looks like that's what I'll order next week.

With a fiberglass hump do I just screw it into place?

I think one normally "screws a hump":-D

Seriously though I would affix with somesort of hardware and seam seal for possible future removal.

Moving along nicely.

That's what I figured, ok do next weekend that's my project, once I get the hump and linkage.

This weekend it's replacing the steering column with one without the shifter. Then adding the new wheel, adaptor, hood pins and gear linkage 1-4. Shouldn't be too bad. After that, I'll locate the carpet kit and upholstry material.

My new plans are as follows once the transmission is in,

pull the dash
rewire the dash gauges
pull out the heater and replace with the one in the valiant
paint dash
assemble
body work/ primer
replace weatherstripping

I'm aiming for June 2010.

What's the can for?

the can is for a heat shield,,so the heat from the big tube headers dont cook the slave cyl,,or the boot on the end or the fluid,,,as long as there is air flowing between the slave wont get hot,,,home made but it works,,,

K, makes sense, now if I'm looking at this right, is it pulling it instead of pushing it?

Also, what size/what car would this cylinder be off of?

I just went through your build The_night_rider
You have a good build going here 8)
Solid floor's and body.
Keep up the good work

I will keep up with your build :read2:

Thank you fstfish66 :happy10: Good move and custom heat shield I am sure it needed to be dun, It great to see folks helping out here.
My son said he would do the same on Victoria 8) for me.

Thanks guys, the car is great I love it.

I'm excited cause I have been reading a lot here about fabrication for interior parts. I have a lot of things planned for the cuda.

I pulled the panels cause not only do they need new upholstery, but my rear winders are jammed and don't go down.. also they are crooked. I was able to break into my car with my bar hand by just reaching through the window gap.

yes the slave is a puller,,they make them pusher as well,,but plenty or room for the puller,,it is a universal slave made by CNC,, sold thru speedwaymotors.com,, wilwood also makes one looks the same,,,they you will need a clutch master cylinder,,with a 3/4 bore and i forget the stroke size,, others have used masters with a shorter strome then mine,,,and i did also at one time,,but i had to switch it for a few reasons,,,if you get that far ill walk you thru it,,, the slave cost 45 bucks,,,master about the same,,

theres a guy that has a complete kit,,,charlies classics i belive,,with a custom made bracket to mount the slave to the side of the tranny,, but his kit is like 360 bucks,,,i have less then 120 tied up used a grade 8 stainless threaded rod,,and made my own mount,,,then a stainless steel braided line
