That's technically not felt. Felt has a smoother surface than this fuzzy stuff. Nevertheless, it is informally called "felt". You might want to have a look here.
 
Several month ago I bought what I thought was the right wellnut. However I just found out that the threads are wrong. Does anyone know what thread size the wellnut the door and fender ornament should have on a 1965 Dart GT?

I finally got back the wheels from Bosse! They look great but need a good cleaning to get rid of the welding pasta!

I ordered a firewall insulation pad from Jim's Auto but they can only ship to Sweden by UPS. $49 for the part and $220 for shipping to Sweden. They only ship by UPS, not USPS. Does anyone here on FABO has any experience with Jim's Auto?

Any other suggestions for supplier of exactly copy of the insulation pad?

Don! Will that plug be for sale?

My friend Johan has these rubber bumper between the hood and the fender. I compared these with the ones I boughth in my reproduction set and they are not the same. The lower section is gone on the new repop. Does anyone know if these can be bought somewhere else?

On the mirror control mount, I seem to remember a wave washer(don't know its official name but it is a is a thin washer that is not flat)on mine. I could be wrong or thinking of something else.
 
Where did you buy the hood/fender bumpers?

Jim's has a bad reputation; they are on my "do not buy from" list. You ought to be able to source equal or better parts with more realistic shipping elsewhere. Review the go-to list posted here.

No, I think you're right; I almost remember that, myself. Not a wave washer but more of a Tinnerman clip more or less like this:

I remember it was kind of a pain to keep the washer thing on the mirror control, fish it through the hole, while avoiding slicing my arm on the door panel, and get the nut on. I think you are right on the tinnerman clip.

Dan! Thanks for the list of suppliers! I think I will get into that list asap. I'm not sure where I bought the rubber bumpers.That was years ago and never paid so much attention to it. However when I added the small rubber bumpers on the doors they where an exact copy of the factory ones.

I will check out Gary Goers, DMT and Metro Molded Parts for more accurate parts.

Yesterday some nicelooking gold painted parts showed up. Now it's time to assemble some gold parts! The paint for the recessed area is ordered and will be ready on Monday next week.

Re the mirror I have never seen that Tinnerman clips. Can that be seen on some TSB or some other source?

Don't think the Tinnerman clip is a TSB part or anything like that -- the more I think of it, the more sure I am there was such a clip in the NOS left side remote mirror package I installed on my '65, and in the one I installed on my '73.

Anyone bought these pre-bented brake lines from Classic Industries? There is alot of work on them! AND, the rear brake line does not go with the kit!!!!!!

I have not used Classic Industries but have bought brake lines for my 65 from Fine Lines. I can say for certain that the firewall brake line fit perfectly as does the driver's side line from the junction block (or proportioning valve since I'm converting to disc brakes) to the bracket on the wheel-side of the frame rail.
 
…except now that I think about it even more (this is the problem with the "memory leaks" that develop with age) I am back to thinking the 1965-type mirror control does not use a Tinnerman clip. I didn't have a correct NOS 1965 mirror kit when I was working on my '65, I had a '67-'76 (maybe '66-'76) style kit, and it had the slim-body type of mirror control shown in the eBay auction I linked. That type had the Tinnerman clip, but I don't think the early large-body control (such as the correct '65 control you have) did. I don't find anything that could be this clip in the '65 FPC, but I might in the '68. It's a little hard to tell because instead of "Tinnerman clip" it says things like "RING, door outside remote control mirror locking" and "PLATE, door outside remote control mirror control index".

I did some bending of the brake lines today I finally did them correct so know they are in place. However there is one brake line that is not correct. How should the one from the tee up to the master cylider look like? Checked the one on the convertible but that one has a different routing. ´

Anyone having a picture of the brake line routing?

I found an old issue of Rodding&Restyle from early 65. In that magazine you can see some pictures of Dart with 273 HP w/Power brakes. If you see the routing it seems just like thestoch brake line is bent outwards from the inner fender and making an sharp angle towards the front of the master cylinder.

ANyone having a Picture on how it looked from factory? According to the partscatalog there is no partnumber used for the brake line!

Don and Rog!

I have never seen these in NOS condition during my 34 years in early As. I glass beaded the metal and shipped the set to US so I could get the right finish, yellow dichromate. I have a nice set if you need. Just let me know.

On my Barracuda`s they both have a bigger bend at the fender well and go in the front of the master cylinder.
 
This might help on the brake lines, from 65 Valiant but routing should be the same. Wonderful work you're doing!

Ulf, can't say much about what thread it is but I am looking for replacements and I have found the following part numbers in a Canadian Parts Catalog Vintage 65.

Part numbers; 2526 234-5 Ornament
1-6024 817 Nut (on Frt Fender)
4-6024 817 Nut (on Frt Door)
2-6025 828 Screw (on Frt Fender)
4-6025 828 Screw (on Frt Door)


I'm guessing that the parts cross over from the Canadian Catalog to the USA version. Maybe these part numbers will help. I am having no luck finding the wellnuts.
