Cool, never knew they built 3 Hemi Plymouth Wagons...were those race cars? No 4-doors in 66 for Plymouth?

I was lucky enough to see both 4 door Dodge sedans. I saw a red one at Spring Fling and the other was at B,E, and A under restoration about 4-5 yrs ago. The B,E and A car was almost 100% mechanically done but the interior was not installed. They had it on a lift so i took quite a few pictures of it top and bottom. As a teenager, my buddy and I lusted over 66 Hemis. What is striking to me is the early Hemis have this monster engine/transmission with very stout suspension and then it's all perched on skinny 7.75 tires.

Is this one of the factory wagons?

"Check out Lee Smith’s ‘66 Plymouth Belvedere Whackee Wagon Super Stocker, a legit historic racer that was the companion car to the Crazee ‘Cuda with the same multicolor paint scheme. As if my lust for wagons wasn’t enough, this one has a Hemi in it. The fact that it’s the wagon version of Steve Atwell’s daily driver Hemi Belvedere, brings back memories of Hot Rod Drag Weeks past, and the ’70-’71 paint scheme"

In 1966,

Yes, {3} Belvedere II '6-Passenger' Station Wagons were built,
and {2} Belvedere '6-Passenger' Station Wagons were built.

One 1966 Belvedere II '426 Steet Hemi' was {special ordered}
by North Hudson Marina in Lake George, New York.

They wanted a 'Torque Beast' to trailer the 22' Cabin Cruisers
and long Speed Boats around the Lake.

Where are these production numbers coming from? (How accurate are they?)

I wont be here in 40 years to see the hellcats value.
lets hope the next generation can enjoy them.

I saw an article back in the 80's about a 70 Hemi Coronet Convertible that they claimed was one of one.

It was found in a junkyard in Canada and was restored. I don't know what happened to it after that. I believe that it was a brown/copper/gold color. And possibly a 4 speed car.

was the whackee wagon a belvedere or belvedere II ? i'm guessing II because it has all the chrome trim goodies, but i dont really know much about those cars.

there is something about coronets with white tops. i love them all lol. something about the white tops makes them look good to me. especially 1969's
i actually chose to paint my duster this color (no white top though), i fell in love with it:

car67beef66.jpg

actually the prettiest challenger i ever saw was a 440, 4 speed, silver, with a white conv top, white stripes, white interior. it was amazing. the guy destroyed the car though. it was silver like the front half of the whackee wagon. the white and silver went really well together.
