that is really yellow! nice car though, mine was out of SoCal...even has a 'AAA member of southern California' decal in the windshild that looks as old as the car.8)

anyone know where to get caliper kits for KH discs? (everthing else I have has drums)
do I need to mess with the driveshaft for an 8.75? (everthing Ive had has had a 7.25...they have taken LOTS of abuse)
 
Unfortunately, yes, this means you will have to do the driveshaft tango.

I cant remember where to get the KH caliper kit... There is calipers that fit the discs that are reasily available at any autoparts store. I think they are off a chevy celebrity or toyota previa. pretty sure its the celebrity.

how far off is it? is it possable to just swap a u-joint?
Ive got calipers, they just need to be rebuilt, arent they the same as mustang/falcon ones?

I dont really have much of a clue on the wagons, I wish I did:-D. But on my '70 Dart and according to a man who has swapped his fair share of rear members, you are gonna need a different driveshaft as the new rear end is gonna knock quite a bit of length off or atleast it shortened.
I also am going from 7 1/4 to 8 3/4, but I never had a driveshaft.

No clue on the calipers. Someone will probably chime in about them.
 
8.75 is home! $300.....has 2.76 gears in the original 741 case, Im currently in the market for 3.55's or 3.23's....and a suregrip of course:cheers:

oh, and are early and late 10" drums interchangeable? will the drums off the 7.25 work on the 8.75?

Cleaned up the rear the other day. Probly picking up a good drivers fender, some trim, a guage cluster, and maybe a set of doors for it tomorrow as well as some patch panels for the Dart and a patch panel for the spare tire well of the Cuda.....hoping for a decent deal, maybe I can haul an old farm truck down there as a part trade (it is a 'wrecking yard')

Picked up the car today to find a lake in the drivers floor, so I decided to finaly fix the leak at the windshield.....after removing the lockstrip and hosing the gasket with WD40, I began gently pressing up on the glass to remove it to goop it up with sealer...crack! I split it! right directly in front of my face.....dammit! oh well, it was delaminating anyway and was planning on replacing it....just not now. I also replaced the master cylinder (disc/drum) and the starter so that my Dart can get the greasy crusty stuff since Im planning on selling it anyway......oh, and got all my stuff from RockAuto to go through the Kelsy-Hayes stuff....just need to find a way to get the pistons out of the calipers.

didint get around to messing with the motor mount but I did finish covering up the primer on the drivers 1/4 panel.

the flowmaster will find its way under it soon, Im gonna run 2.5" duals turned down about 3-4" behind the rear wheel wells.

a little update...

finally got around to pulling the carpet out of it....the floors are pretty trashed....they where pretty nice when I got the car but theres some pretty good sized holes in them now. got it all cleaned up the best I could and coated them with some rustolium for now.

I also washed the car today and threw on some 70's era hubcaps that I had....waiting to see if they grow on me.

Hi, lookin good. Is that just paint on the floors or some sort of rust treatment? What prep did you need to do?
 
all I did was take the old carpet out, wire wheel everything that needed it, and sprayed on some $3-a-can rustolium for now just to 'protect' it
 
I need to do the same thing. I bought some rust converter spray paint for $10 a can a while back.
 
bodywork update!

moved/replaced/corrected drivers door trim (door is off a 65 Dart) filled the holes, replaced both lock cylinders smoothed over both drivers side doors, etc. tailgate or drivers fender is probly next to get some attention:cheers:

Wow, nice work on the door cudaguy! She is coming along nicely, I think the aluminum slot rims would look killer, but i am partial to those rims anyway and have them on my 66 Valiant... :) keep us posted...
 
Glad to see you got to the floors before they were completely gone.Your making great progress,saving another rare wagon in my opinion.:wink:
