I will tell yea, wet sanding takes it out of me, a little here and a little there, worse side is dune and in primer, and I have the seats set in place (in there holes in the floor) they feel great @Ddaddy.. still at a crawl but getting close to paint under the hood, enjoying my shop time, blessed is the man on the hill

Those seats look so comfy Mike.

Thank you 65dartcharger, a labor of love for me

They are Mike, anyone ever say bench is better has never sat in a pair
I will say, the buckets in my 66 are way more comfortable than the bench in my 70.

Spent more time locating my 360 pulleys then I did prepare them for paint, a bunch of other things going on of late but I did get one more thing off my list ..

well it seems that way at times, I am in the middle of this, new 5 stack 904 I had built 3 years ago, one step at a time on the ground, hope to have it out this weekend, just going after this trans crossmember and tail shaft bolts and removing the starter , so glad I have a drain plug in my pan.

Ok, I have the trans and TQ converter in the shop getting cleaned up, ordering a B&M flex plate today so I can always use this trans with a 318 or 360.

Got the parts to build a 408 myself. Bought an internal balance stroker crank. Eliminates a lot of goofy chit like having a balance weighted torque converter, or flywheel, and having to use a special harmonic balancer. Why Mopar did that is beyond me. Not one of their better ideas IMHO. Make sure you dont forget to use an external balanced torque converter or it will pound your 360 to crap in short order. I dissassembled a 360 core i bought for my 408, somebody had it bolted in place of a 318. No balance weight. The engine must have shook so bad, one main cap was cracked, and the main bearings were pounded out of it. Seller took it back gave me a second short block to dissassemble which was in better health.

360 externally balanced motor.
Neutral balanced torque converter.
B&M flexplate.
What's so tough about this ?

I dont need no stinking external balance. Prefer to not deal with it. Makes my life a little easier if i dont have to think about that part of it. I am assuming the B&M flexplate with semicircle chunk missing is part of the balance allowing a neutral torque converter without a welded on weight.

I am having my rotating assembly balanced internally on a machine, then having my machinest install the flywheel and harmonic balancer and spin it again to balance the flywheel and the harmonic balancer as seperate items balanced to the crank.

And that's great....Very happy for you.

I'm just stating, that it is not an inconvenience or rocket science to put a 360 drive train together. Simple as it gets.
Lets clear up this misconceived notion that its difficult.

Didnt say it was difficult, just one less thing to have to be concerned with. Now a buddy of mine runs circle track with claimer rules. He has his 360s balanced where theres only half the weight on the flywheel and the cranks are internally balanced to go with the half balance weight on the flywheel. He only does this because if somebody claims his engine they are required to run it the next week or forfeit the engine and lose their put up money for it. The rules state only the long block is to be claimed. The claimant getting the engine thinks its an externally balanced only 360 and when they run it, its going to shake itself apart lol.

I have a new 318 TQ converter, and it is a good one, no need for me to buy another one, so I need a B&M flex plate.

Did some wrestling with the Hookers yesterday for a mock up and test fit
