It's my color!!! LOL Decided body will be the new Challenger green. Almost sublime but with some pearl in the paint. FrankenCuda can't be Franken without the green! :glasses7:

That's a very good point I hadn't thought about!!! I like that you think ahead taking everything into consideration.

:glasses7::glasses7::glasses7: Frankencuda is gonna be so bright going down the road that people will ask you to dim your lights even when they're off!

Please make sure your balancer doesn't have a rubber insert -- lots of them do, and it won't survive the heat of powder coating. :-D

This is what remains of the statement "I'm gonna restore it someday." :protest:
I really hate these kind of people. Would rather let it rot into the ground than part with it before disaster. :protest::protest::protest::protest::protest::protest::protest:
This was a 69 Barracuda fastback, believe it or not. :protest::protest::protest:
The roof was the only thing useable. Some glass. Very few trinkets. What a shame.

I was hoping those weren't pictures of you using some experimental metal etching on your undercarriage!

Today I decided to see how the rear bumper is going to shape up. Test fit the OE bumper to gauge looks.

Then saw that there was quite a bit of open area between the bumper and body. Decided to affix the bumper to the body with no seams. The area under the bumper would still be at least an inch short of reaching the bumper so I cut that part out so it could be moved back to flush up with the bumper.

Next, I sectioned the bumper so it would fit the body better. About an inch has to come off of each side. I also cut the tips off so I could make a longer, smoother transition into the quarter panel.

Back out after lunch to do some more fitting. :glasses7:

 YIKES! I understand the mods you're making to the bumper. It should give a more modern feel to the rear, but I wonder whether or not you should have made a paper mock up of it first. The idea is sound but it seems a bit risky when you don't actually see how well the final outcome will be. :dontknow: My best guess is that it should look right but you never know until you see it.

Any chance you're going to incorporate a different set of backup lights into that lower valance? - Might not be a bad idea to recess them. I see that you've marked that valance for notches but many of the new cars seem to have holes that the exhaust runs through. Do you suppose that valance panel could be extended down a bit more and some rectangular tips could pop through? You had mentioned considering a slight downward extension of the rocker panels for ground effects. It might tie together with it.

I have to extend the quarters and rockers about an inch. Still wouldn't give me enough material back there to do a "hole." The pipes are right up against the bottom now. Notches will have to do. The "bumper" will come forward about half way to the wheel to match the front look.

It will be awesome!!!! :burnout:

Let's put it this way: The bumpers on a C2 Corvette only WISHED they look that good.

Phenomenal mod there with the bumper extensions on each side; it'll really lighten up the visual weight of the rear quarters (and look swoopy).

Reminds me, visually, of the 1st gen "spears". They were on Valiants, did they also come on Barracudas? Not all Valiants, of course, it was a trim option.
