Hi Iam a 15 years old and my dad got me a 67 dart to build as my first car it’s going to be a small block plum crazy purple with a white top and white interior. I have taken it all down to the chassis and am about to get a rotisserie to put it on.
Google up some images of "1967 Dart engine bay" and you'll get a lot of pics to help.I have a few questions I need help with before it goes to paint get blasted. Can anyone help me with the driver side apron pics. Mine has holes everywhere and I can’t find what goes there factory and would like to weld up what holes aren’t going to be used before I put it in primer.
Yes it’s my dads tube chassis unimog diffs 4 wheel steer 360 with a 518 and a 4sp atlas tcaseI love Plumb Crazy!! looks like it will be a cool build...........but is that a Jeep Commando in the background???
Just to save you some grief later- label and organize things as you disassemble. Ziplock bags are your friend.
Just so you know, there are a number of things that make your 67 "one year only" and different from not only "every thing else" but the 68/ 9 "series" as well"
Obviously, no side marker lights or reflectors
Only year with reverse lights in bumper. 68/9 were in the tail lights
Tail light assemblies do not interchange, the buckets for 67 were slightly smaller
68/9 grills do not interchange as the headlight buckets are slightly inset towards the center compared to 68/9
I believe some of the internal door and window hardware is different in 67
If you have the original front crossmember "K member" that is a one year only idler arm and they are getting harder or at least more expensive to find. There are a couple/ three ways to deal with that.
Pretty sure '67 and '68 can be switched (other than the lack of side marker lights on the '67). But '69 is definitely different, both in the headlight location and in the part of the fender that bolts to the radiator yoke (and the marker light, again). Also I was told I can swap grills and taillights ?? Thought 67-69 where all the same ?
Thank you. You guys are a lot of helpThe only thing you might be able to use are the spindles, calipers and rotors. None of the other stuff will work on an A body.
You will need to locate a set of '73 and newer A body "big ball joint" upper control arms to use those spindles, your existing lower control arms will work.
Lots of good info on brake parts interchangeability in the bigblockdart.com tech archive.
