not correct67 has screw on cable -one year only speedo
67 has numbers radial (at angle)
68-69 has clip on cable
68-69 has numbers radial (at angle)
70-71 has clip on cable
70-71 has numbers horizontal
if you already have a 150 mph speedo, I would suggest you get it repaired and calibrated. call www.redlinegaugeworks.com
it’s very tough to confirm a used one is functioning perfect. And no telling when that 50 year old one will go bad too. Could be days after you install it, or years after.
While you are getting yours repaired you can choose to re-face the black and white background with original silkscreen process. Or leave your as-is. Your choice.
not correct
Because all second gen Formula S Barracuda’s came with the 150 speedo
This is just info on the 150 speedo
1968 Barracuda, The 150 speedo can different ways. The number face is the same way as 1967. But the speedo end part of the speedo end came two different ways. Early 68 came with the screw on end and late came with the push on. As always with Chrysler I am sure some late ones also came with the crew on but I cannot prove that. I think some of The very late build 68 Barracuda built numbers on the face changed to the 69 style on the very late 68 cars built.
So the moderator says the thread has been moved to the discussion forum from the wanted classifieds.Apologies to 1500swinger and everyone else helping
me look for a 150 mph speedo for my 1968 Barracuda. I was completely wrong about the orientation of the numbers on my original. The speedometer numbers all read horizontal. The photo I posted before was one I pulled from the web and does NOT match mine. I am looking for the one with all horizontal numbers. Totally humbled and embarrased.
At this point I am doubting just about everything I thought I knew about the second gen barracuda 150 mph speedo and if what is in my car is the original. Back to the drawing board for researchthe one you posted is correct

So again thanks to everyone especially those with deep knowledge and willingness to chime in to correct my misconceptions. I will post my cars production date as soon as I get a chance to confirm what the fender tag has. (not going to get it wrong by relying on my proven faulty memory)
that make me possibly feel better about my 68 340-S. It has an SPD of Nov 14, 1967
It’s coded for 150 speedo and tach. And it has slanted speedo and tach numbers. And screw in cable.
always wondered if they were replaced.
can anyone verify the date codes on the back of my speedo?
BTW, My speedo was bouncing like mad and stopped. Redline Gaugeworks repaired it without needing parts. IIRC, lube and an adjustment. Then sprayed the face matte clear.

For what it is worth, my 68 Barracuda, per the fender tag, built Oct of 1967, car did not have shoulder belts, it did have the roof shoulder belt mount, with out the welded in threaded nut, in place behind the head liner. That early ‘68 had a push on speedo connector. This is just info on the 150 speedo

Thanks for reaching out 1500Swinger. -I don't know if that one is the same. I think there are variations depending on year, at least before 1967... so I am interested but not sure of yours is a match. Do you have a photo? I know the 1968 has the non upright numbers and a push on style cable attachment in back.

MINE HAS DONE THE SAME THING . What did it cost you ?
1968 was not only a transition year for several changes but there was a railroad strike causing parts shortages too. Some number of Valiants were built with the B'cuda dash that year. Parts shortage or not, they always used up inventory on hand before implementing changes. A early 68 model could have the burlwood overlay ( only cut out different/larger at the fan switch ), Speedometer with screw on cable, Reverse lamp switch still inside the cab, etc...
I am finding out I am wrong about a lot. Sorry to have put out bad info on this.NOT SO , MY 68 FORM S HAS A 120 MPH SPEEDOMETER , WITH A SCREW ON CABLE -----------JFYI
