Fritz,

I don't have the breakdown in Production Number of all the vehicles

The 1968 Dodge Darts were available with the following engine combinations.

* 170 6-Cylinder {Standard 6-Cylinder}
* 225 6-Cylinder {Optional 6-Cylinder}
* 273 2-Barrel {Standard V-8}
* 318 2-Barrel {Optional V-8}

The Dart GT {2-Door Hardtop} package was available with any of the above Engine combinations.

The 'GT Package' was an Interior and Exterior trim-oriented package. It was
'not' a Performance Package, which confused everybody.

Dodge Dart GTS
* GTS 340
* GTS 383

The 'GTS' were different packages than the Dart GT.

does this mean the 318 is 31 lbs heavier than a 273?

Good Question.......

But the answer is 'NO'.

The difference in Shipping Weight between a 1967 Dodge Dart with a 273 {Base V-8}
and a 318 {Optional V-8} was in the Suspension.

A 1968 Dodge Dart {when ordered with a 318} came with the Heavy-Duty
Suspension as 'Standard Equipment'.

cool...thanks :)

Here is where the weight difference was.

Suspension Part .........273 V-8 ............... 318 V-8 ...
* Torsion Bar Size ........ .085" ..................... .087"
* Front Sway Bar .......... N/A ...................... .088"
* Rear Leaf Spring ........ 4 1/2 Leaf .............. 6 Leaf

Regarding the 'very rare' 1968 GTS 440 Super Stock package.

Only '6' produced by the factory in {December 1967/January 1968} for the
1968 NHRA Winternationals.

It was supposed to be listed at #3280 lbs. for the SS/EA class.

Not to be confused with the Grand Spaulding Dodge {Mr. Norm's} GSS 440.
