1968 Plymouth Barracuda Fastback (old school build with a new school feel)

Also pulled the dash bezel out and hit it with some plastic, high bonding primer, and then some single stage matte black. It is still a little wet in the pic, but dried just as I wanted:

I did the same black treatment on the dash bezel on my 68 Barracuda.
I like it a lot. I have a post here on FABO on that car, titled Street Cruser.
I will check and see if I have a dash photo there.
No dash photo, post #37 has a video of an early engine start and shows the Rally dash in black.

I did my initial start up with the Sniper EFI. It ran really well for about 10 seconds while the lifters pumped up. Then a valve lock came loose (my own fault). I shut it off pretty quick, but still made a mark on the piston and bent the valve. The piston is useable but had to pull the head and order another valve.
No big deal, just fix it and run it again.

Sorry I’m new to this don’t know how to pm.
No big deal on a six month old discussion. Some people frown on deviation from the original intention of the discussion, sometimes called a thread. You will get the hang of it.

A long ovderdue update: I pulled the old engine and put in Icon forged pistons, they were only 2-3 gr heavier in weight so no rebalance had to occur. Staying at 10.35-10.4:1 compression. I put in a Comp Cams 274 roller, and total seal gapless rings that are gapped for nitrous/turbo if needed. I also upgraded to a single plane fully CNC ported and polished Indy intake, done by Indy Cylinder Heads. I gasket matched the cylinder head intake ports to compliment the intake. The new set up runs so smooth and crisp.
