We tried to catch the brake/trans fluid in the buckets and got a lot of it.....anti freeze and fluids were disposed of properly!

Bolted on the engine hoist and put a little pressure on it.....not so much as to pick the car up off the jack stands but enough to hold engine, K-frame from moving away from frame when we remove the bolts.

A few side notes. Notice the hood is still on, PB blaster at the ready, polish fender guard taped to the R/F fender, classic Direct Connection fender guard on L/F and no beer...... its still early, lots of time for beer!!!!One more thing, third picture down from the top notice the classic 2 liter over flow bottle! I love it...
hey had the same thing!gotta replace the bottle every once in a while though.lol

By the way have you tried this as of yet at the drags? What does the car weight considered it supposly made of aluminium (?) compared to the engine you removed?

I mean, since this is a Hemi powered car i'am curius also as to how fast it would be in this ''stock'' form with the Hemi, should low 11s be possible at the right conditions? :)

I'am looking for one here in Sweden but unfortunatly (well for my part!) there is not many Dodge Demons or Dusters here, and i can guess that many of them are having rust or is in decent shape that needs to be fixed, we got winter climate here a large part of the year so and since i'am not that skilled with fixing cars i'd rather try get a car with preferly as perfect body as possible that is driveable that one can fix overtime.

A sort of dream like Demon would be a conversion like this, having the typhical orange/black color theme like Hemi orange paint, black vinyle roof, powersteering, discbrakes, those bucket like seats or whatever was possible to get from the factory, a fitting hood with black factory looking stripes, dana 60 rear end, 4 speed transmission, you know making it look like a Demon version of a Hemy Challenger from the 2fast2furius movie(crap movie other than the muscle cars but similar color theme like the one as in the movie), combinations of items to make it look like a car that could possibly perhaps have been ordered from factory if they would have deicided to make a Hemi Demon in reality.

A car that can be used at the stoplights, and drive pretty good for being such an old car(good in sense that it drives, steers and all that just as great as other muscle cars does from that periods or better maybe), a car that one can have hell of alot fun with driving and be sort of unique amongs all Chargers, Challengers, Cudas and all that, how many have a Hemi powered Dodge Demons that looks like a stock car really? :)

Chargers, Cudas, Challengers and those cars are far to expensive really, and also heavy(not an issue really for my part but i love hemi powered A bodies!), and lower weight increases performace so i thought why go for a Dart or barracuda like so many does (not bashing or anything i love those cars!)and instead try something more odd and go for a Demon or Duster if i'am going for a big block A body? :)

This aint gonna happend yet though, i'am gonna take drivers license first, so this will probubly happend in a few years if i'am lucky and can afford this.

Really nice car!

I'm not really sure what it weighs...or how fast it is...
but it sure looks cool!!

The car weighs 3400 lb and has not yet been on the clocks. but runs really well on the streets and what it meets! :happy1:

I think you need to find another scales and try again.

Are you sure that it weighs in at 3400 lbs.

Yes, it has a Dana 60, but everything else is lighter.

The engine, albeit a Hemi, is all aluminum and has no cast iron exhaust manifolds.

It has (4-wheel) disc brakes, a lightweight K-member, etc, etc, etc.

Do you think that the A/C and Dana add 250 - 300 lbs?

Below are official shipping weights (less A/C) for A-bodies (Dusters):

1970 Plymouth Duster *340 fastback coupe 3,110 lbs

1971 Plymouth Duster 340 fastback coupe 3,140 lbs

1972 Plymouth Duster 340 fastback coupe 3,100 lbs
