1972 Canadian H-Code 340 Dart Swinger Special Resto - Finally started!

Car looks great. Cant wait to see it painted this fall. I found an extra 72 340 air cleaner (I have 2) that we discussed, so would definitely part with one. I finally plan to get working on my car this week as the family is off to saskatoon for the week!

Thanks Rod, me too on the paint, I need a little breather when the paint is on maybe I'll still have time for that road trip up to see your Duster and check out that air cleaner. Talk again soon

Everything is now jammed and in the final coat of primer so just need to address a few small area's with some blocking and spot prime then final sand,

Thanks fellas, 2 1/2 years in so far and somewhere around halfway done. To bad it's mostly just weekends i can muster the energy to work on it or it would already be done, I need to be driving her by next summer or I'll be pretty disappointed.

Danny, are you doing all the painting in your shop right where the car is shown in the pix? How are you keeping the rest of your shop so clean? Is this being done through the magic of skipping photos of a bunch of clean-up in between? Looking good, man! L8r

Jim

I have a bit of an unfair advantage Jim my office is two downdraft paint booths that I use all day and have access to. All the painting and priming that you have seen on my thread I've done at the shop in the booths trying to avoid messing up my newly renovated garage and its just a much better place to do the work. The only priming I've done at home was last weekend, I didn't want to drag the shell back to the shop so I re-primed the quarters with a drop cloth down then let that dry and then re-masked the quarters off and did the roof and cowl panels the next day all out on the driveway.

I finally got all caught up on your thread.
I'm really glad I did, as I am thoroughly enjoying it!
Great work! Your attention to detail will make a huge difference in the end.

This is the weekend right where she really comes alive with color right? Amazing job your doing. Slow and steady wins the race here!

Thanks guys, a bunch of trips shuttling parts then got the body home safe and sound, then I went and had a nap, I love a nap just about as much as I love my car LOL!

Pretty happy with the way it turned out Jim, been so long since I seen it in Hemi Orange I wasn't sure how I would like it even knowing it had to go back to it original colour. Now seeing it in paint I am really liking it!

Your Swinger's looking great. Wish I was that far.
I do have another quarter panel install question if you don't mind. On the AMD quarter at the front corner of the deck lid, the gap gets really tight. I was wondering if I should make a slice in the top of the panel at the green line, and tap that metal over to open up the gap? then weld it back up. Any input would be appreciated.
Thanks
