Here are some of the Gas tank straps, and underneath

New brackets

I had to make these, the threads on the old ones were messed up. All-thread and washers that I welded on the end.

Over-head welding was a *!#$@

The Patch that I had to make just above the rear bumped on the passenger side. This was just rough, not what I actually ended up making, I cleaned it up alot, this was just a mach-up. I will have pictures of the patch I made hopefully tomorrow!

I also just bought a pair of heads with 2.02X1.60 intake and exhaust with a 61CC combustion chamber for 200$ completely rebuilt!!! I will have pictures when they get here. Once they arrive I get to put the camshaft and heads on together, can't wait to feel the difference!!! I will also be putting power steering, and a front sway bar on at the same time. I have had these parts for quite some time... When I put the cam and heads on though, the engine bay will be getting cleaned up, sanded and repainted!!! This will probably take place this coming weekend or the following one, as for I have to wait for the heads to arrive. But in the mean time I hope to get the patch I just did finished up, the trunk and interior all painted! Not the color the car is going to be, but a gloss black...Not enough money to do that. 20$ a gallon including the activator! Can't beat that...

I didn't get a whole lot done today, just made some new gaskets for the tail lights. Last rain I had about 3" of rain in my spare tire well, so I figured might be time to make some since I just replaced it.

I haven't been up to doing much since last Thursday, I got sick and couldn't do much of anything. I have decided that I want to put a power sunroof and power windows in the car however. So much that my mind can think of, and nothing that my wallet can provide to do anything with, such a shame. Anyways back to work on the car tomorrow. Not sure what I will get done.

I sanded down and painted the trunk today, I didn't sand as much as I would of liked to. I was running out of daylight and heat for the day and it is supposed to rain the next couple of days, and I needed something on it to protect it. It doesn't look bad, but in person you can see a few flaws in the filler here and there.

I have also decided that I might go with a 70-72 dart or demon front end, they look much better than the dusters front end. I am gonna try and find one local for cheap and price it, if it's to much, I will probably end up just doing something different with the front end I have. I am also not sure if I have mentioned that the plan for the interior is buckets seats front and back, with a center console that splits all the way to the rear seats.

No, sure there is. You are essentially in the middle of telling a story with your pictures, so just keep up the good work and post your progress!

They are 5X 100 my apologies, it was the 5X4.5 that came out close to 117

Yeah they don't look to bad on em surprisingly kind of make em look like a hot wheels car though....

I'm with DionR on this. Be careful and make sure that your adapter bolt pattern is EXACT to the car. I worked for Discount Tire for many years and I can't tell you how many times I saw cars towed in for "wheel offs" b/c someone was trying to make another wheel fit their car. Btw 5x4.5 is = to 5 -114.3 not 117 and those 2.7 mills mean all the world:)
Project looks good though.

I know they are exactly correct, I just forgot the dimensions thank you for the concern though. And thank you about the car.

120+mph and having someone cut you off (with no blinker mind you) is not a good combination. It equals brakes locking up, spinning out and eating a ******* curb. The right side of my car now sits about 2" lower than it should. It is dark out right now, but the shock seems to of gave up, and the upper ball joint didn't look in good shape. Need more light to see anything else... Alignment is fucked up of course, and both passenger side rims are GONE.

I am thankful my friend and I are safe, and that we did not hop up on the curb... that would of been it.

Well, I know you don't want a lecture and I'm not going to give you one, but you aren't going to have a nice car, ever, if you are going to spend part of the time doing crap like that.

Being a unibody, it'll probably need to take a ride on the frame machine to see if it's still square.Bummer.

Yes indeed, I hope that it is, and yes it was not the smartest idea. It was however on a five mile long road that is no longer in use...

Was this in your Duster?

Yes it was, and I went out there early and looked at everything and it seems to be ok. The passenger side shock just gave out, but I have a shop with a frame machine that I am going to put the car on once I get some new shocks for it.

Well after being scared shitless for a couple of days and not driving anywhere, I finally managed to get it over to the shop to work on it. I can't order new shocks yet because I don't have the money, but I have gone ahead with the resto.

I just finished gutting the interior today, all that is left inside is dash and seats.

I started on the patch for the driver side rear quarter panel. I got it all cut out and the what the patch will look like made. Tomorrow I will cut it out and weld it in. Pictures will come tomorrow!

Today I got it all grinded down, and got two coats of filler on it, going to sand it down, and hopefully throw the last coat on tomorrow. But tomorrow I am going to pick up an 8 3/4 rear end for an abody! After that I can start getting parts for my four link rear suspension that I will be building.
