Congratulations to 'Yunick13' (FABO) for winning the 2024 season-opening NHRA Gatornationals Top Qualifier title with an oustanding total of 31.0 bonus points. He picked the #1 qualifier in both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle and the #2 qualifier in both Top Fuel and Funny Car. Way to go!

* 7 different Top Fuel drivers with two Round 1 head-to-head matchups. One between #8 qualifier Justin Ashley (3 picks) and #9 qualifier Tony Stewart (1 pick), and the other between #7 qualifier Doug Kalitta (4 picks) and #10 qualifier Clay Millican (1 pick). There is a possibility of two head-to-head matchups in Round 2 if all four drivers survive Round 1.
* 5 different Funny Car drivers with one Round 1 head-to-head matchup between #4 qualifier Matt Hagan (7 picks) and #13 qualifier Daniel Wilkerson (1 pick). There is a possibility of one head-to-head matchup in Round 2 if both drivers survive Round 1.

Congratulations to 'Yunick13' (FABO) for winning the "Top Picker Eliminator" title for the 2024 season-opening NHRA Gatornationals with an outstanding total of 176.0 points with class wins in both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Both his Top Fuel and Funny Car picks lost in the semi-final round of eliminations. He was helped with ET bonus points in both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and by Speed bonus points in Funny Car, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle.
'memike' (FABO) and 'TT5.9mag' (FABO) shared the runner-up spot with 173.5 points each. They both picked the class winners in both Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle. Their Funny Car pick lost in the semi-finals and their Top Fuel pick lost in the second round of eliminations. They were helped with ET bonus points in Top Fuel, Pro Stock and Pro Stock Motorcycle, and by Speed bonus points in all four professional classes.

As always, your picks need to be posted before Pro Qualifying starts at 7:30pm EDT (4:30pm PDT) on Friday, March 22.
nhra.com currently shows the following number of entries:
* 15 Top Fuel
* 20 Funny Car
* 16 Pro Stock
Those counts are always subject to change so make sure to check to make sure your driver picks are entered.

Pro Stock Motorcycle will not compete at this event.

FYI, at the end of the television broadcast of the Gatornationals they announced the 2024 NHRA season will be 20 events rather than the previously announced 21.
The event previously specified as "TBA" will happen starting in 2025.
 
Is there a particular reason OCDart and Alsant is listed twice?

I just read announcement on MSN.com and nhra.com that Jasmine Salinas will be driving the Scrappers Top Fuel car at the Winternationals next weekend and in the immediate future. Mike Salinas is stepping out of the car to take care of some personal health matters but is looking forward to getting back in the car as soon as he is ready.

Update...

The forecast has changed and now calls for a 50% chance of rain on Saturday and a 20% chance on Sunday.
