318 and 5.2's Same flywheel?

Are the older 318 (70's) and the later 5.2's have the same flywheel or will the older flywheel bolt up to a 5.2? What about 360's and later 5.9's?

The 318/5.2 is an Internally balanced motor, the 360/5.9 is an Externally balanced motor.

Maybe i worded this wrong. I'm asking if a flywheel from a 70's 318 will work on a
late model 5.2? And will a flywheel from a 70's 360 work on a late model 5.9?

I thought magnum motors were a neutral balance? They will physically interchange but the balance is different between them

I can answer the 360/5.9 part. The flywheels are weighted differently and do not interchange. There are threads on here about this.

So basically the old 360 LA is the odd ball. The 273, 318, and 340 LA are internally balanced as are the 5.2 and 5.9 Magnum motors.

No. Like the 360, the 5.9 Magnum is externally balanced but with a different amount of counterweight. I believe the difference is because of different pistons (lighter in the 5.9).
