318 swap gone wrong?!

Got the damn thing started- not even sure what i did, i set advance to maybe 15-17 degrees and it fired right up- I also did find my voltage regulators capacitor blown out so thank you to whoever suggested me to check my ignition. You guys are appreciated. I’m stoked that I joined this forum. You guys are much appreciated

I've been a member since 2015 and I thought I knew a lot, but these peeps blow me away. The guys and gals on this forum are truly knowledgable! Oh, and welcome to FABO!

So 2 days later my ride shut off and it smoked from the harmonic balancer snd the breathers… any ideas? I go to crank it over snd it immediately white smoke pours out from the harmonic balancer

smoke from [behind] the harmonic balancer?

did you drain the fuel fouled oil or nah?

details on "my ride shut off"... were you JDA or was it idling in the driveway or ripping it down the street on a test drive?

I Swapped a 318 SB into my 69 valiant 100 that original had a 225 slant six
Everything has been replaced, new plugs, wires, distributor that is HEI, new coil
New ballast resister
New battery, new voltage regulator and module, ive checked my timing, ive checked fuel and even replaced manual fuel pump and new converted to electric fuel delivery with a edelbrock pump, new carburetor- i had it running but it was very rough and i went ti mess with the distributor to see if i could get it to run smoother and now i cant get this thing to run, during all my testing ive now found excessive fuel in the oil pan- outside of that, ive checked all my vacuum lines and everything seems correct- the car wont start up, only hiccups as if it wants to start… but nothing… losing my mind over this build, anyone got any ideas? Im close to giving up here

This is interesting...
HEI ignition and their proper E-Coil use straight 12 volts, no ballast resistor.

Using a ballast resistor steps down the voltage and defeats the purpose of an HEI ignition.

E-Coils on straight 12 volt run cool and put out 60,000 volts.

he has stock chrysler proform EI kit

Yall are mentally ill if you keep tryin to help this guy. He's posted NO pictures. We don't even know if he has a proper PCV/breather setup or anything about his install. Nothin. He's not answered any pertinent questions. The ONLY person who has posted pictures is @George Jets tryin to help the guy. I'm done wastin my time. I SWEAR, if I wanted help, gettin answers would be a LOT easier than pullin teeth.
