340 motor pumping excess oil on right side

Does your engine oil thru the push rods up to the rocker arms?
Do you know if there have been any oiling mods made to block?

Quit guessing, it's time to pull the rocker shaft apart and inspect it.
Nothing here makes any sense if assembled correct and the parts are serviceable

yes removed and didnt see anything abnormal at all

If that were true then you would have a lot of oil already pooled somewhere; either in the cylinder, or in the intake; and if that were true then either the intake is pulling oil up from the valley or you have a serious mechanical problem inside the chamber.

Are you 100% sure that what you are seeing on the plugs is oil?

yes its oil , there is a heavy flow inside rt valve cover ? not sure why or how thinking that it may be related to the recent intake swap ?? thnx
FYI running a windage tray as well

i suspect the intake is sucking it up somehow need to do a full leak test perhaps

It's your e Bay fabbed valve covers. The baffle isn't efficient, nor does it block the slosh oil in the most oil-pooling part of the head.

Read this.

Extending valve cover baffle. Thoughs?

I simply took a piece of tin and pop riveted it to that baffle, in the same shape as my cardboard template. I bent the part on the back side of the baffle upwards. So it blocked the slosh. Oil vapor has to travel halfway up the cover to vent...so actual oil doesn't make it that far. If someone was thinking, all the valve cover company would have to do it put the breather holes on the front.
My brother in law has cheapo chrome ones with both holes on the front. Doesn't huff oil at all.

Beautifully. Went from ruining breathers to ZERO oil huffing out the holes. And that's a drag car with 2 breathers and no pcv. (Almost no vacuum)

I edited the post above and added a pic.

yep engineers arent usually hot rodders ! or mechanics for that matter FYI my brother is an enginneer :)

Well I'm a drag racer, so I like things that do the job inexpensively:) so I bought those covers because they looked like $300 covers and were like 60 bucks. Finally got tired of huffing oil and added my baffle. Fixed via some scrap roofing tin, and 3 pop rivets.

i wonder if they interfere with the rocker arms ? and w
hows you oil problems now ,do you run a pcv or breather on that cover ? thnx
 
Yup...all the big name companies out there.are just making them symmetrical. Yet a cheap chrome set of $35 offshore covers gets it right. Look at the hole position.

My cam is huge and aluminum 1.6 rockers. They do not hit the plate I added. I run a breather on both sides. No pcv. Now again...I'm basically race only, and very little vac. If I were you, I would put your pcv back on.

I have ZERO oil issues now

i see the jegs have hole at the front on one , mine have the front hole on the left side rear on the rt ,do want to reverse side my problems , like a dog chasing his tail !

pcv is on the left and breather on rt , if i put pcv on rt it sucks oil instantly to plugs and no starty :(

Passenger rear is the spot oil pools the most.

Maybe I'm missing something.

Your pcv is on the left, and doesn't foul plugs correct?

But your breather on the right huffs oil.

So...add a baffle extension like I did on passenger . Leave pcv on left. Breather will stop huffing on the right.

sounds like a possibility , im currently just running a down tube from rt breather to behind the block , did you ever find out why or what causes this ?

......Read my first post, and the thread I linked. Those are China valve covers with a bad baffle design, AND sb Chryslers are oil sloshers and poolers right under that hole....bout all there is to it.

Post#58. The cardboard.
If I had it to do over, I would make it run the complete way to the rear, and just leave the front open.
