Wondering how common the dp6b intake for a 383 is? What would be a good price for one in good condition? Anyone running one?

there is one on racing junk in great condition for 300, what are you going to do with the car? cruiser, street/strip?

Street, strip. Always liked six packs just never thought about getting one. Found one near my dada house and it got me thinking.

I like the idea of a six pac setup as well, the cost and initial setup is huge. I have seen several 440 6 pac motors here on the dyno, and the engine builder has fits lol doing jet changes to get it right. It seems legit, that you would be running a 383 2 bbl etc until you wack the throttle wide open then you have a **** ton of cfm.

Any idea of what the total cfm of carbs are once the outboards are all in? i know my 426 build only used 638 cfm. I know the small block carbs are less cfm than the big block ones, or so i have been told.

Fisher I agree, the thought of running on a two barrel and then having four more available just sound cool. I would assume mileage would be better than with a single four IF I was able to tune/adjust them correctly. Cost, like you said, is way above a single four setup with e carbs, linkage, air cleaner assembly, etc. I've also heard numerous times a single four setup will outrun the six pack everything else being equal? I guess the cool thing is just the visual effect and to be able to say you have one. Question though, if a single four is better at the track, why were the six pack cars able to keep up with the hemisphere, but beat the 440 4 barrels.

The factory stock 440 + 6 motors i have seen on the dyno here, even with manifolds. were only able to make 404 hp and 450-460 TQ. thats pretty much what they were rated at. Headers cam and some tuning would wake them up.
