From the shifter to the console I was planning on doing the same, yours will be a top notch well thought out build, congratulations  fallowing, pulled My /6 after 7 years of driving.
Started driving her about 6 weeks ago after nearly 8 years to do all my updates to my 66, your early A is beuityful and will be a screamer

Thank you, it’s been a long time in the works and really getting excited how it’s all finally coming together. Your Valiant has always been a great story!

Kinda thinking I might end up using a 64-65 B body console or something similar with some modifications. The gear indicator will go nicely where the tach normally would, then there could be room for cup holders and the “track” and “sport” mode buttons. Might try a gto manual trans console too. Don’t hate, it’s a nothing special car that’s been cut up without consideration already.

Man this is looking so good. I can’t wait to see more. Keep the updates coming.

I like eather one, I looked at a Pontiac Tempis console because it was slender and looked nice, but I saved my money for two 7 or 8 inch rallies for the rear I must have. Yep, I like the Pontiac look

Headers need to be finish welded but they are all mocked up and looking great! I’ll be heading to drop off some more parts and check out the progress in person on Sunday!

Wow, how will you remove the Headers when neccassary? Remove the whole Steering? have to remove that intermediate shaft, it’s got universal joints. Not too bad.

Gonna have to remove that intermediate shaft, it’s got universal joints on both ends. It’s not too bad.

The headers look awesome. What size tube and collector did you use? Want to make another set?? Lol that's what's keeping me from installing a gen3 hemi in my 65 valant. I am not a fab guy and nobody makes off the shelf headers for my car. I just bought a 21 ScatPack challenger and for as big a car as it is. The car runs damn good. The 6.4 hemi ought to be a blast in the lighter valant.

Thank you! I can’t take any credit for them though, I have a friend of mine helping with a lot of the fab work on this build. They are Smith Innovations stainless header flanges in 1 7/8 to a 3” collector. These are probably pretty specific to this car cause the steering and motor mounts are all custom. I would do some networking to find a fabricator near you to have them built. My buddy builds a lot of different parts and he said “Damn them suckers were difficult!“. I appreciate it, I’m hoping it all works together well and runs great! Out of curiosity, what’s your scat pack weight? What is that car rated in the 1/4 mile?

I am going to have to see if I can find some one near by me that could fab up a set. I am running into the same problem with my 96 dakota sport race truck. I am in the process of installing a 650HP stroked 6.1 gen3 hemi in it and nobody makes long tube headers for it. About ready to put some shorty headers and a turbo on it. Lol my scat pack I think weighs around 4150 with out me in it and I have read it's soposed to run 12.40 at 115 in the 1/4. But I bet that's not with street tires. Lol
