since your killing off power to wight ratio shouldnt matter what time it runs! whos got the 318 with the most bling???? or maybe the question should be what hp/tq would be for a "killer" 318!
Well, since it's my thread and my poll, I asked the question (singular) I wanted answered. I realize it's now page four and officially shot but I got a sample of answers that I wanted. Carry on, my friend...

To me for a hot street strip engine would be around 1.2-1.3 hp per cid which would put peak power around 6000-6500 rpm, so 323 would be 390-420 hp. If you want more power than that or don't want to gear and stall it properly i'd really think about going bigger.

Know it's not a 318 but Richard Holdener just did a 460 hp 327 with a really good powerband

How is the motor a "non factor" when it was a 400 plus cube stroker with w series heads and if my memory serves me correctly, a 250 or 300 shot of nitrous? That's a long way from a "real" 318
You answered your own question. The non factor is the fact that it's a 400 cube Motor with a 300 shot! Its irrelevant to this thread theme

I would go early Nova. Maybe a 63. Put every fiberglass part available on it and get the hole saw out. All aluminum 6.2 LS with the best of everything and the biggest turbo that's sensible.

You didn't specify make or model so.......

I love 318’s. Hence the name. ;)
A late 80’s Factory roller cam block, W2 headed with a solid roller would be my choice.
