5.7 hemi problems

I know this is not an A body but need a little guidance. My wife has a 2006 300c with the 5.7 hemi in it that is stock. In the last few weeks when we fill up with gas it starts fine but when we drive it stumbles bad. It bucks 2 or 3 times like it is going to stall and then it drives ok until next fill up. The car has 87,000 miles on it with very little trouble and has been well maintained. I wonder if the fuel pump is getting ready to crap out. Has anybody else had this happen and what is the fix. Thanks Bill
 
Sounds like water and/or crud in the tank. When you fill up, you are mixing everything up and the pump sucks it up causing the issues you describe.
 
I guess next time the tank gets close to empty I will have to drop and clean it out. Thanks for the imput. Bill No not throwing any codes.
 
If the problem is only after filling the tank full you probably have a bad shut off valve in the gas tank causing gas to get into the canister and the evap system. When this happens the car will stumble or stall until the gas is sucked out of the evap system then it will be good until you fill the tank again. The fix for this is a new gas tank or not to fill it all the way.

No this will not cause any codes. I have replaced a few tanks for this problem. It will only be a tank problem if it only happens right after fill up. Try not filling tank above 3/4 for the next few times,if the problem does not happen again with tank only 3/4 full then you know.
 
This can be an issue with many new cars and not just Chrysler. It is usually caused by hitting the trigger on the pump again after it kicks off automatically. As stated when that happens it will get I. To the evap canister
 
Damn that tank is close to $800. Will this get worse or stay the way it is now?
 
Wow, when I first read the caption, I thought to myself, do ya think they found out it's not a Hemi :(
