I don't know. I hope it's just a vacation. I'd hate to think as much as he's contributed here that the door would just be shut.....
I have heard of a all motor slant running 11.50 with about 275 rwhp.He does cheat caues his car with driver is only 2355lbs.Wilfred
Be careful who you acccuse of cheating, because it's really hard to prove that someone's cheating with a A body /6 car because there are no rules to be broken RE: "cheating" with a car like we build.
What rule or rules specifically, do you think he's cheating with??? In what racing organization?
If he's gotten his car that light, I want him to come and work on mine...
Bill,I was talking about me and my car.Mark
K1 rods or 198 rods, dome pistons, bore the block a pretty good size, ported head, milled head, 4bbl intake, 4bbl electric fuel injection
then a nice forged cam. and crank, push rods, etc... decent exhaust and maybe some spray. 500 hp out of the motor is not the same as 500 hp out of the car.
you would need to build a 904 with specific gears and a decent rear end. maybe 8 1/4 or the usual 8 3/4.
thing is, no one does after market heads so your looking at 2k in head work alone, about 3500+ to build the motor.
It's is just not in the scope of a naturally aspirated slant. Ain't gonna happen.
I dont think you will see 500 horse at that price. I dropped that much building a s/b to 500 horse.
If you turbo charge the slant then you will see that much hp for an engine that cost that much.
On a 150 shot mine went from 14:50's to 12:0's.
And no, they are not practically free.
inless i get my friend to let me loose on his mill and some tubing with this head i have layin around...
It would be one for the record books.

What is the link "turbo charge" about...I didn't put that crap in there.

On the scales.I weighted 2346 with me in the car and 2 gallons of fuel in the tank.Ran a best of 11.54 at 114 mph at 2400 elevation.ALL MOTOR.My goal is a high 11.30 with better air and a better tune.I have close to maxed out the potential on this motor and car combo. Will start building anuther motor whenever anyone gets within a second of me.Guzzi Mark
Ed,I want you to go for it.I started this slant thing 2 years ago at age 53.You,being only 20 gives you about 33 years to bee where I am at.I predict, YOU will bee the first person to go in the 10s NA with a slant.I am going to help you get there. You gotta bee in Vegas to hear my plan.Guzzi Mark

Wallace (an online racing calculator that has proven fairly accurate for me) says your engine is making 301 HP as it sits, now. A 10.99 at 2346 pounds only takes another 50 HP.
I think YOU may be the first NA /6 car into the tens...
Or, bolt Tom Wolfe's turbo engine in there and go 9.75 @ 137mph...
That's what the Wallace program predicted for those numbers....
(2346 pounds @ 500HP,,,)
