505 Dyno Results

They should be. It is pretty rich. But we didn't take the time to adjust it. I run a Sniper EFI in the truck. Mainly only running it on the dyno to make sure the oil leak was fixed.

Understood. You might gain some power from getting the AFRs into the higher 12's with your Sniper.

Are the AFR readings in your dyno sheet accurate?
They are not.
The A/F ratio column on that sheet is derived from the data gathered from the air and fuel flow turbines.
If you look at the air flow column, the data is flatlined at about 283cfm.
That is obviously erroneous data, as air flow would climb as the rpm goes up.
So, any data that’s relying on the air flow numbers will also be erroneous.
On that sheet, that’s the air flow, a/f ratio, and VE.

Thanks for explaining that.

I’ve been looking at dyno sheets for 34 years……..stuff like that just jumps off the page to me.

My car won’t accelerate on a freeway ramp with 02 numbers below 10.5, and starts coughing and bucking in the 9s. Assumed they were incorrect.

02’s are a whole ‘nuther thing.

I know enough about them to know they can lie to you.

But the OP’s sheet looks to be using the turbines for the A/F ratio.

I had assumed that the dyno was using O2 sensors! Learn something new every day.

Here is a recent photo at the track.

They can be either, or both.

Since the “scfm” column on the sheet was screwy, along with A/F ratios and VE numbers that would look like what’s on that sheet if the cfm numbers were stagnant, it just added up to the A/F numbers on that sheet were the result of inputs from the flow turbines.

I am curious to know if the air flow turbine was even actually on the motor(and just not working), or not even on the motor.

I’m sure that truck has disappointed several drivers in the opposite lane who thought they were going to drive right by.

Who runs Westsides Dyno now?
I had Frank in Nampa Dyno my 408 . He even had a set of W2 dyno headers with sensors in every tube .

Take your truck to Woodburn and it will feel totally different.

I like how clean you left it .

Thanks! I was going for a sleeper look and I think it turned out pretty good.

I would like to make the trip to Woodburn some time. But I bet I would get booted out for running too quick without a roll bar. LOL

Justin ran the dyno while I was there.

Thanks! Super fun truck.

I can't deny that I love the midnight grudge events. I take my 11 second stickers off the windshield.

Awesome if I end up against an import or modern muscle car.

Of course modern muscle running 11.70s, or a lot faster is not uncommon.

True! But lots of the drivers at those events are inexperienced. Slow at the light and tend to get excited and spin the tires.

Always fun to see the crazy fast stuff that shows up as well.

This is at about 40 ft out against a Demon 170. He caught me at the 330 like I was standing still. He trapped at 146 mph.
