6.1 Hemi into 72 Demon March 2018

Thanks BP, the steering column is Flaming River as is associated knuckles and 3/4 steering shafts. I just bought some raw length pieces and then cut them down to fit (at least twice)! The rack itself is a Mustang 2 version from HDK, coil overs are QA1. Front end is a bit off a calico cat. A reduced pressure power steering pump from Bouchillion rounds it out. As we all know the LS boys got it easy, buy a kit and bolt in. Not so much with our old Mopars. You have to be part mad scientist part bull and part wizard and it will go together just fine!

So here is the place I got the gear shift cap insert from. I toyed with idea of leaving the OEM shift pattern cap in the shifter as a theft device but figured with three pedals I got that covered! Anyway these guys make a six speed insert for old hurst shifters.

She looks good sitting in the drive! I am taking her to an actual alignment shop Monday where it can be done correctly (I hope). I got it functional but not exactly right! Shop looks huge with the Demon out and off the rack. It has been a long time. Right at 4 years but who’s counting? In the beginning I was logging my labor hours but ultimately got so frustrated I stopped. This has easily been the most ambitious car project I have ever done. Holy smokes!

Mornin SLO. Gonna be a sweet runner. It's hard to find a good old alignment person. Used to be all mechanics could do an alignment. Now they are called technicians. Garbage in garbage out.

That is exactly the problem I ran into. The alignment bay is run by a 18 year old making minimum wage and looks your car up in book and sets parameters accordingly. Book, we don’t need no stinking book. I had to find one of those crusty, chain smoking, bourbon in lunch box old codgers to take it to!

Looks great brother. Need to make a trip up there after Saudi and check that thing and enjoy some beverages.

Woo Hoo! You still be sucking air! Always a great sign while you are vacationing in the box! Great to hear from ya. You know our door is always open to you. Be safe and watch your six!

Yeah man, still sucking air. Man, may need to stay here until the climate in the states changes(2024). We will see.
Great progress on your ride. Looks fabulous.
