what parts/build defined the slant six QRS engine....?
 
some slants had a double roller chain and stellite exhaust valves.
...special versions for industrial, commercial, and marine use; these had special equipment such as two-row timing chains, chrome-plated upper piston rings, valve rotators, Stellite-coated exhaust valves, high-volume oil pumps, and polyacrylic valve stem seals ...

but did this define the QRS.......I admit I have no clue.....but was clearly depicted on the 73 Dart Custom I owned from new and as such delivered with the decal. This little car was notorious for chirping second gear on an automatic shift of the tranny....all you had to do was give it the gas...and hold it down....second gear....little chirp from the tire....

pishta....did not mean to gun deck you as they say....I should have define the question a bit by stating what I have written below this.....

The car was Canadian built and while I cannot say for certain as it has been so many years I am thinking the full decal was Windsor QRS

I see the big ? and that is basically what I asked....what is QRS and if I knew I clearly would not be asking....it was what my engine had written on it is all I can say.
 
OOh, they cast some slants in Canada....Maybe that's the name of the foundry.
Q probably was for "quality, R and S somthing else.....
 
Holmes foundry in Ontario was where some slants were cast. Assembly was somewhere else, probably Windsor.
 
yes, the slant engines was built at the Windsor plant in Canada as was many A engines...it could be simple as QUICK RELIABLE STARTING (see below..lol) but for some reason I am thinking it for something else...if were on the say the radiator shroud or say glove box door thne maybe QUIET RIDE SUSPENSION....but on the engine....it is just a quess and was hoping a slanty fan would have the answer. The Canadians use some of their own castings to satisfy home grown requirement for shared facility. Just something of interest that may never get the real data for.

The 1973 model year Darts.......Chrysler's new electronic ignition system was standard equipment on all engines, and starter motors were revised for faster engine cranking.

could this be a reman and that being some logo from whoever rebuilt the engine?
 
as I recall, working as a wrench for brand L....the quads hit big about 75......

we had a 76 Lincoln Towncar with Fords Quadraphonic stereo...said it right on the AM/FM slider bar. That car has HUGE!
 
232 inches...19.5 feet...(insert ship horn here)

I remember the suspension was so much like a marshmallow that when they stopped they kept on rocking a little. Boatmobiles all of them!!!
 
I happened upon my original owners manual for the car....not a mention at all....someone knows....but knowing that someone may never happen...thanks all for playing along.....remember the show....Stump the Stars.....its still alive and well it seems.....!:lol:
