Curious how many are under construction within the group !!!
Thanks Chris
Thanks Chris
Absolutely1Bad, do you consider "still sorting it out" to be "under construction"? I built my more-door '62 V8 sedan quite awhile ago, but it always seems to want more "lub" (redneck for "love"). Right now I am trying to tune the Thermoquad because it was falling on its face on acceleration. I found that the accelerator pump wasn't working correctly, and it definitely needs to be re-jetted/re-rodded. A tuner friend of mine gave me a lambda number for the lean condition under load, and now I need to figure out what jets and rods to install.

Absolutely
Thanks for photos
U running auto or manual ?
Yes sir thanksAutomatic, with pushbutton actuation, of course. I installed a 727 because I thought I'd need it, considering the power I was hoping my engine would produce, and I had to raise the transmission tunnel in order to install it. In retrospect, a well-built 904 probably would have been just fine, and would have been quite a bit lighter. When installing a V8 into a '60-'62 Valiant or Lancer, there's not too much room for exhaust manifolds or headers, and things get really crowded at the rear driver's side of the engine, where the pushbutton shift cables go under the car between the steering box and the exhaust pipe. Also, I couldn't find room to mount the battery under the hood (although some others have; I don't know how!), so I mounted it in the trunk, and then you have the question of how to run the battery cable to the starter. Fun, fun, fun!
Nice having unusual stuff ## versus what the masses have !!!Every time I drive my Toad around town someone says, "I haven't seen one of THOSE in a long time!"
