maybe some pics would help us help you.
the 2.76 gears are not helping the situation, but are not insurmountable. Is it a low stall converter, too?25.8" tall tire and stock 2.76 gears for now. I have and 8.8 rear with 3.73 gears that will be going in at some point.
yeah, it sounds like it can't spool up the engine fast enoughYeah stock stall. Seems to be better if I run it in first or second at about 3000 rpm and then go wide open throttle
if you could take some pics and post them, that might be helpful. What is the link to the online manual you were using? I could take a look and refamiliarize myself on your particular carb model.Hmmm. I'll start from square one then. I'll pull the carb back off and clean all the passages out and recheck the float levels again. Hopefully its just some crud stuck in a tube or air bleed somewhere.
could the secondary booster gaskets be incorrectly installed? perhaps upside down? left for right? wrong gaskets?Installation Instruction & Technical Resources - Edelbrock, LLC.
Download the carb manual one. That's what I have been using.
What pictures would help? I can take some tomorrow.
IIRC the emulsion tubes, make it so as they only fit one way; but it's been awhile.....are the secondary boosters unique? if one were specific to say the left side, is it possible to install inadvertently in the right side, and vice versa?
been QUITE a while for me, too. I kinda remember thinking/ deducing how the gaskets had to go to work properly, but couldn't remember if the venturi cluster was idiot-proof or not. No offense to OP, I think we all appreciate he's never even seen this particular carb before.IIRC the emulsion tubes, make it so as they only fit one way; but it's been awhile.....
had a 600 eddy on a 318 that I couldn't get the bog out either, with stock converter and 2.76's. But I finally got the bog out with one word..... "Holley"I know the gears are not ideal but its what I have for the summer. I'll definitely play more with it when I get some time. We bought a four unit rental last week so time is a little short these days lol.

I pieced together an old 670 Street Avenger. No more bogI bet the Holley is a vacuum secondary. See, that's the difference. The Edelbrock AFB carburetors are mechanical secondary carburetors. Although they do have the air door to regulate air flow, they are 100% mechanical in nature. That's why they need some RPM to make the transition smooth.
