That's a great photo a nd a fun story. A 160 mile cruise with 4.30's will definitely clean your spark plugs. Here is the latest pic of my 66 Dart from September 2024, I owned this Dart for 25 years now. Assembled the 416 short block in 2006, sent the heads out in 2009 for cnc porting and haven't broke the seal on the engine since. Darts best time so far is 10.63 in October of this year, in a small 3 day Drag and Drive event. Drove a little over 160 miles with 4.30 rear gear, took off the street tires and bolted on the slicks. Bolted the street tires back on drove another 160+ miles to an 1/8 mile track and ran 6.75, 6.74, 6.82, 6.74. I think that's not bad for a pump gas 4spd stick shift street car.

Good lookin' out! I meant to pull a measurement last night and totally forgot.Hey Bogie, Just measured my 2dr. post and came up with 86 1/4 inches from door jam to were the tail light bolts on which is the longest part of the quarter on my 66. Hope this helps.
Pics coming. Please do. It sounds like a fun one. I love post cars.I have a ’66 Dart 170 base 2-door sedan on the back burner. It’s a rust-free NM car, 225, A903 on the tree, and the only options it has are an AM radio and carpeting.
It currently sits on a set of 15” Wheel Vintique steelies with fairly low-pro tires, and the original poverty caps.
I specifically wanted a ’66 A-body (any style Dart or Valiant besides a 4-door; 2-door posties and wagons being my favorite) because it’s the last year of the earlies, and the first year of the “modern” U-joint drive train.
I have a set of disks from a ’72 Scamp, but I’m on the fence about installing them, because I’ve never had an issue getting these old drum brakes to stop just fine on a Slant car.
My plan is to install a 1981 225 w/ all the Super-Six goodies, and back it with an A833OD to make it a fun little car capable of great MPG.
Pics forthcoming.
