I have only met 2 guys with these cars. It seems like the 66s are popular! and the 68's are too.

I understand the D-Dart from 66 was amazing!
I also get why you'd want a 340 or even the SS with a Hemi! DUH!

But the appeal of the 67 in unique I suppose. It's lines are s i m p l e . No side markers. Simple grill Lines with the rectangle lights. Basic Tail lights No fancy trunk facia. No Rediculous stripe options. Simple colors. I believe it was the 1st year you could get a set of Kelsey-Hayes 4 Piston Discs on a Mopar. Goodyear had just come out with "Wide Tread" "Red Streak" tires offered this year. There was a lul in Hurst Equipment and the 4-speeds where coming with Inland Reverse Lock-out Units. Small 4" Bolt wheels had Reverse Lugs on the Drivers side. It was a few years before any "Smog" equipment would taint the performance of these "SUPER" Muscle cars that are currently in development... Gas is .40 cents! Speed limit was 70 & 80 MPH. Shoulder belts are an option. 8 Tracks are all the RAGE. so are the BEATLES!

I have reason to believe there was a 67 383 Dart GT. Not a GTS untill next year? I am unclear though as to if this was actually an option from the factory or just a dealer modification. . .

If not the 273 "Commando" "HI-PO" "4Barrel" 235HP was the fastest "Sports Compact" car out.

Bob Tullis was impressing everyone in Trans-Am racing with his 66 Dart. Trans Am would be taken over by the AAR Challenger with it's longer wheel base than the Cuda and a De-Stoked 340 to a 302.4 Making almost 500HP with a Holley Double Pumper not the 6-Pack Street Version Intake.

What are you old timers memories from 67?

WHERE ARE ALL THE 67 DART OWNERS???!!! Role Call...

I like things that are different. You don't see many Mopars at car shows or other mixed events. And the 67 Dart is different in its own way.

1967 Darts are ugly, I don't know why anyone would want one! :toothy10: J/K, I think they are cool, and yes Max, you don't see them too often it seems!

Yes, there was a GTS in 67

as far as trim on trunk, yep they had it and it is EXPENSIVE to restore, have some to pick up this week

I don't know if I would say the 67 Dart was rare. It was the 1st year for the new body style, something like 3732 convertibles built that year, don't remember on hardtops.

All convertibles were GT or better.

I like the 69 grill and tail lights better, much cleaner look with back up lights in the tail lights over the bumper.

I like the stripes and bulged hood, so I put them on my 67

I would have had 69 taillights but the guy doing the body work was so slow, I said to forget it

Cool. Nice! Thanks for having the evidence to back that up too... Sweet ride.

I think there where only 800 4-speed hartops made.. Could be wrong though, how do you know for sure?

I didn't say they where the rarest, just that they seem to be now. I am glad this will help point them out...

The 1967 GTS were actually GT cars with the LP vin.Mr Norms of Chicago Illinois installed the 383's into the cars after Dodge said it could not be done. And the GTS was born in 1967.457 GT or GTS 383's built in 1967.In 1968 Mother Mopar started building the 383 GTS cars.

I know Norm did it first but I believe Dodge did build their own factory 67 383 cars. Check out the ad I posted earlier for the 67 GTS 383 car, built by Dodge.

You may be right 66340SEDAN.I know a guy who actually has a 67 383 GTS.It is a auto and has 25,000 miles on the body.He wanted 10k for it until he found out it is only 1 of 457.Now he wants 25k and its missing the engine. Rolling body only He is crazy. Jim

I learned a lot from this....

67 was the beginning of the A-Body as we know it?! Cool, makes me feel even luckier to have a cool one in my garage right now. I am one Lucky guy. Blessed with one of what could called the Start of a Legend. Mopar's A-Body Dynasty. Big Power, Small Car, Tremendous Speed!

Feels good to have one of the first flakes that started an Avalanche of Bad A$$ Mopars! Wow, cool. Thanks for helping bring some light to this whole situation! This is the best forum in my world!

Another 67 GT here. Originally 273 2brl/904/7.25. 340(416?)/4spd/8.75 coming eventually. Actually, the 8.75 has been in for years now.

Did they make darts in 68 / 69??? I thought the 67 was the only one to own!!!

HAH! Heres mine.

My sisters X had a 67 GTS vert when we were in highschool....don't remember what motor it had but it was a 4 speed and was pretty quik as I remember. dark green with a black interior. He wrapped it around a pole on the way to school one day on an icy road. Hit so hard it shoved the K-frame into the firewall.

I just want to clear up what might be a misconception, My 67 is NOT a GTS, it has a 69 GTS stripe.

My car started out as a slant 6 auto, now has a 340 and 4 speed, trim deleted and 69 hood, stripe, hood turnsignals

Yes Dodge made the GTS and it had the 383

Well, 67 was the first year of that body style of Dart. That lasted 67 - 69, then in 70 they changed the nose and rear, but the body style was the same. The taillights were now in the bumper, and the nose had a smaller bumper and plastic grille. 70 - 72 had the flat front end, 73 was pointy but still held the tail lights in the bumper. Then 74 - 76 was pointy with tail lights above the bumper. But the beginning of the A body for Darts was 63. 62 was a B body.

That thing is Sweet Rebel! Nice Clean Black 67.

Yeah I knew darts used to be B-bodies, wasnt sure when... So you say 63?

thanks Madmaximum, those 273 solid lifter engines are a blast, especially with a 4 speed like your's.

Anyone know where I can get the wide trim molding at the bottom of the door between the wheelwells? I have seen the narrow ones offered but not the wide ones that meet the wheelwell trim. THey are the same ones on the bottom of REBEL'S dart
