Runnin 5s and making the kind of power you are ain’t all snowflakes and unicorns. As you’ve found out. Why don’t you back it down a little and run a little slower and keep it reliable? Might take some of the stress out of the whole game for you. You’ve come a very long way in this process and I (and I’m sure others here) would hate to see you throw in the towel after getting this far.

BIG NEWS....the mother f-in holley 220 build firmware update...fixed EVERYTHING!! my ignition issues are history, popping, sync errors, everything is gone. car runs like a mother f'er. i say that as i just ran some taco take out. ran one of the baddest small tire racers in the country. had him by a car till i spun and shitted into neutral bpassing 2nd all together.

i had the car sold pretty much to 2 different people this week but declined both offers on friday. as that is when i put in the new 220 firmware and made test hits yesturday. 4 in a row and 1 an hour later. wanted to make sure it wasnt a fluke. it AINT!
got a little pep in my step and feeling amazing about it all now.

i will say the issues i had and even after sending my ecu off for inspection to holley. it really leaves me with distain and frustrating anger with it all. that this issue was known all along and took 14 months to fix it. lots of big name guys blew much more expensive engine up over it. i was much luckier than they was. so even in all that bad. my outlook is positive now. that i was only being saved by the grace of God that i didnt lose my engine over this.

winter updates still gonna happen but now i maybe able to hit another race. if im able to acquire some new radial pros. we now have a low 5sec ride now. thats all im saying. et's are gonna be few an far between unless i get that FOUR. im gonna sing to the world on that. hahaha

thank you guys. once i can locate some new radials. i hope i can get some track passes and bump boost up into double digit numbers. itd a bad ***** when the rpms get over 6500....a reall bad *****.
 
what would it take to build an iron block 540 g2 hemi long block capable of 2-2500hp and drive on the streets? ill possibly be shopping for another ride in november. 63 330, 65 coronet, or 55 belveder possibly. darts gotta go. im washed with it. or maybe just get outta cars all together. as im getting to much vertigo to drive much longer at all.

It’s definitely not for the feint of heart! I’ve had several milkshakes in the oil pan, water leaks, lifted the heads, had it in and out 4 times, and starved it for oil on the first pass of drag week. I did get a 5.75 slip in a 4000lb car though! Hopefully next year is a better year!

The iron blocks are pushing 5k these days. If you build it with good parts like I did, you’ll have 25-30K in it pretty easy. If you’re gonna do a boosted EFI deal, expect to spend 45-50k not including the base car. I wouldn’t go that large in cubes unless you’re gonna put some large twins or a huge single on it. You’re existing combo isn’t even close to sorted out. That thing should run low 5s pretty easily. I wouldn’t give up on it yet.

i have the dart sold but not sure ill let it go. declined deposit for a week to consider it. its working and fairly sorted but i need tires to really get after it now. i want a 63 330a real bad. twin 88s and a 540 hemi to fill it up. weather i keep the dsrt or not ill get one to build anyways
 
Man ! That's a Blessing in Itself! P.s. the 65 Coronet would be a sweet home for the 540 Gen 2!
found 2 of those 65s and that the year i love of those. 1 needs tons of rust repair including quarters but very close by. the other way over in idaho and needs little to no body work at all. my real heart is after a 63 330a mustach car. otherwise a 55 coronet or belveder.

i lifted when i got to the flagger. as i was looking towards the truck. i caught the giant bitchbar out the corner of my eye. and since i was looking right i headed that way and wasnt worth it. let him get away and tried rolling back into it but blew the tires right off. as i didnt do a burnout just cleaned the tires off. probably left them scratching their heads wtf did i do that. i had him by half a fender when i lifted.
fwiw the dudes front tierod broke off in the final round of the race during his burnout. nice guy but that trucks a....:x

yall see my tires ripping upthe road? it really wants to grab but i didnt do a burnout cuz my sbit had bald *** tires on it. lol

tulsa is a long ways for me for test hits. if they have a no prep or reverse track race.you will see it there. otherwise prolly not. plan on maybe an okc thunder valley trip is possible. prolly about the same distance from kcmo

They are so desperate at Owasso track that they have been waving registration. I'm just hoping to get my body work and electrical sorted out. Connectors and wire are **** on mine I will probably order new engine and under dash harnesses. Just replace it all but I know I will get frustrated already am about the wiring part.
 
decided not to sell.

little winter time food run tonight. 9pm popo was just moments from my door closing on it. lol
