I installed a new disc brake conversion kit (Bbp) with the new upper and lower control arms new bbp ball joints and everything is installed but my new 15" rim is rubbing against my new upper control arm I also replaced the master cylinder and still brake pedal goes all the way to the floor (on going issue) :banghead:also when my passenger wheel is straight my driver wheel is off (Turns to the left) also only grinds on driver side and I am not sure what the issue is, do I need a new aftermarket sway bar or a new K member, I am very pleased with the product I just need a little help installing it, please any advise would be greatly appreciated

P.S. non power brakes.

did you get an alignment? even though the master cylinder is NEW, it could be leaking internally...what brand is it and where did you get it? is it a reman unit? are the brake lines new? did you check for leaks, cracks, did u properly bleed the brake system?

When I bled the master cylinder, i bench bled what i could in a vise, then put it in the car and ran the lines out of the MC and back up into the fluid in the resovoir. evertime i hit the pedal it would push out air and suck in fluid. The wheel problem is definately alignment, you can dial it in a bit with the tie rod end but will need it done professionally. Before I bled the brakes, i left the top off the MC, filled it up, and cracked my passenger rear cylinder, and just let it gravity until i seen the drip, then proceeded to actuallly bleed them. Did the same for the rest, and I had no problems. The grinding could possibly be the dust plate? Not sure on that one.

Thank you for all the comments, I am not sure how to get the alignment because the grinding is so bad I am a little nervous to drive the car, I knew after the project that I would need an alignment but didnt expect that it would be needed that bad lol, I spoke with the company that sold me the conversion kit and he told me to purchase a upper control arm from a 76 aspen and I looked at the control arm from the aspen and it looks nothing like what I need.

Try different position on you upper control arm bolts
(eccentric bolt) that will move the top of your wheel in or out
sounds like you need to move it out.Adjust your tie rod ends to
get you tires pointing the same direction no clue on brakes even
with air in the lines you should have some pedal.Make sure that your
brake bleeders are on top of the caliper if they are on the bottom you
have them on the wrong side

I wonder what the chances are he reversed the upper arms left to right?

Post pictures of your install, should help diagnose the problem.

When I bled the brakes on my Bcuda just opened the bleeder and let it sit for a while, checking occasionally on the fluid level in the master cylinder.

Ill post pics as soon as I can, I am pretty sure the upper control arms are on the right side I think I put the calipers on wrong I will try and swap them next time I get a chance, I was also thinking about getting some 15x7 rims do think that will solve my issue, also what is everyone's thought about wheel spacers, getting mixed emotions from people about them

what wheels do u have now?

i run a 3/8" billet aluminum hub centric spacer on the front of my 17x8" wheels...as long as they are made of billet aluminum, and u have installed longer wheel studs so the lug nuts have full thread engaged, and are HUB CENTRIC, theyll be fine. ull have no worries.

You shouldn't be hitting any where unless you have a ton of backspace on the wheels. It should be leaving a mark from rubbing if so where is the mark located? You will need longer wheel studs if you put on spacers

Im going to try different rims on my next day off, right now I just put some 15" rims on, nothing fancy just rims to get it up and running again, I will also post pics on my next day off

p.s. still no pics of the brake assembly but was wondering if anyone would be able to help me with this, the guy I bought my dart from said that it was the original 273 engine in it but after talking to a cpl of guys I know everyone seems to think that the motor is bigger than the 273 here is a pic of engine (not the best pic but any ideas)

What size engine you have isn't relevant to those suspension and brake issues in the thread.

I know its not relevant I was just asking Ill make sure to put it in another thread I didnt know you couldnt ask a general question to people you were having a conversation with if its not in the right thread sorry for the mistake lol

EASY to ID Mopar engines. Start by cleaning a looking at the front of the engine block immediately below the head / block parting line on the driver's side of the car. There should be a long number there, I don't recall, I believe it's something like the 2, 3, 4 digits will have the engine CID.

Your photo is not showing up, 'least fer me.

There are also casting numbers on the side of the block

Believe me redfish is relaxed, he is trying to help, so is everyone else here.....so post pics and maybe your problem will get resolved.

I revisited the thread hoping to find pics or some clue that would help us solve your brake problem. What I found wa a question concerning the engine and a pic that doesn't show. I can only wonder if it is a pic of the engine or a pic of the brakes.
If all forums and threads were open to general discussion we would need only the one forum.
good luck

Thank you redfish I do understand the reason for all the different threads I just dont get to check the site that often, so that is why I posted it in the same thread, but I will post pic ASAP (most likely tomorrow).

Thank you
