Im converting our 67 cuda over to the 68/9 style stainless reveal trim.
Just doing the front windshield for now.
I got part #'s from 69 parts manual.
Here's the #'s, the manual states, 6 of 6002263 and 5 of 6002263, then 4 of 6002615.
The 6002263 supersedes (from the net anyway) to 957418 which crosses to Auveco # 24170.
The 6002615 # is hard to find but does cross to Auveco 23877.
I have a bunch of clips (see pics) but want to confirm which ones, how many and where they go? I've decided to go new clips, I wont be re-using the old ones. I have downloaded the templates for front and rear windshields from here.
It seems some of the retailers have pkgs that are mislabeled, so I'm hoping to avoid that be. Also hiring out the glass removal and install. I dont wanna deal with that bs also lol.
Pics, part#'s and placement appreciated.
Thanks.

Just finished mine. Someone here has a map of front and rear glass and location/number of clips. Get it! Lessons I learned and not clear on any ones website= there are three kinds of clips, what I call "small" and "large" black and a few "large" green. On your rear glass- all 26 clips are the "small" black ones. Your front glass uses 23 clips. All clips are the "small" black ones EXEPT THE BOTTOM ROW. The front bottom row has a total of 9 clips. Each end clip (total of 2) is a "small" black one. The seven middle clips are the "large" green ones. I found no one who sold the correct kit. Now you know what you need. Buy two "kits" if you need to. If you can't find that "map", I will try to photo for you. DMT was helpful. The kits include new screws. Good luck.

Thanks Murray! I have the templates which gives the location/spacing and # of clips. Its a helpful diagram, BUT doesnt specify which screws, or parts #'s. I've searched a lot on here but nothing specifies which screw goes where.
Thanks for chiming in. Here are templates I found on here. Also pics of clips through Google.

I ended up doing it the hard way, I refinished my original clips and screws and re-used. Since these are original to my car (1968) the original screws fit a little better. However the clips and screws from the kits are very good. You have the correct "map" and it also shows the distance between screws. I found some deviation between the "map" clip hole locations and what was on my car originally. The difference was very small, go with the "map" and you will be fine. I had two extra screws/clips on the rear glass. Be patient, use common sense and you will do fine. Also I had all the stainless trim polished, ouch! $600, but they look like chrome.

Thanks Murray, seeing how mine is 67, it never had clips or ss trim. Good to know the template is good! Now I just need to know which clips lol.
Thanks again, glass guy waiting lol.
@MOPAROFFICIAL converted his 67 Valiant over as well as @mullinax95.
I "bumped" Moparofficials thread and see he has chimed in.
Thanks again

Seems those wider shorter ones are the top n sides. Basically if you take and place the diff size clips..you'll see that some if not in the right place will sit proud, and you dont want that.

Since I was able to re-use my original clips, I could see that the "larger" clips are taller. This would allow the moulding to protrude, stick upward, not flush. My original clips mostly were "small" not as tall clips except for the 7 on the lower front glass. These were green but are the same as the "larger"/taller black ones.

So bringing this up as I'm at "that stage".
I have an asst and I've labelled them with measurements. To hopefully help myself and others. This might be lengthy but hopefully it will be "definitive "(with your help).
I bought a new AMD ss kit from a member on here that they no longer required. It came with a screw "kit" also with 19 in one 1 size( 0.46H×0.763W) and 4 of another size(0.52Hx0.770W)
This(I believe) is where confusion lies.
The top and side clips should be shorter as those parts of the car are the shallower when compared to the bottom.
From what I've read you need a total of 16 of the shorter clips(3 for each side, 1 for each lower corner and 8 for the top).
The bottom ledge is much deeper than sides and top and requires taller clips. For the taller clips, 7 are required (dont forget 1 shorter at each bottom corner).

Around 2009 I had my windshield out and replaced all of those clips. One thing I did was installed all clips screwed into place, pushes rubber gasket in without windshield in, and test fit the stainless trim. I tweaked (bent) a few clips to make the stainless trim a little easier to snap into place. So I recommend doing a test fit of the stainless with rubber gasket in place prior to windshield install so if anything is not right it can be fixed....

Steve, changing out the glass is VERY easy. With my wife's help, I did mine (front and back) with no problems. If you have found someone to do it for a REASONABLE amount, that's great. Otherwise, it is really easy. I (or others here) could talk you through it easily.

Lookin good Bill! Yes yours was definitely upgraded to the stainless trim.
Got pics of clips?
Heres clip screws. I've got quite a few used ones plus ones that came with AMD kit(no wax). I may just use RTV on them to deal up. Actually I've got marine goop I used on boat that should work. Screws are pretty much a match diameter wise as a #8. Since these are new holes, ideas on drill size? 9/64"?

Ok so I'm marking up where the sides and top clips go. Due to the short lip/ledge on tops/sides, the clip has to sit down as deep as it can go. I marked the holes with marker and measured from bottom to center of hole is approx .177". Sound about right?
Drill bit size?

So after finishing night shift, I thought I would start drilling and mocking up trim. Noticed on the pass side near the top that it isnt perfectly straight, theres a 1/8-3/16" gap when the trim piece sits flush at bottom corner and flush halfway up. I haven't drilled for that clip yet. Undecided how to minimize the "issue" there, so I drilled for middle and bottom on pass side. I still need to get the trim removal tool(absentminded).
I found another bag of unknown new clips, that are taller than any others I have. In my mind this may be a benefit for use on the lower edge as it would be sturdier.
Ideas/suggestions with these? See last 2 pics.
Thanks
Steve

This is great information and perfect timing for me. I need to replace the windshield in my 67 - 4 door. I have the 68 and newer gasket on the way. Does anyone run 68 gasket without the reveal trim and clips? I assume the trim is cosmetic only, but could be wrong?

Once the rubber seals are in you’ll should not see that gap

So sides and top are mocked up. Bought a trim removal tool to help with mockup(had to grind one tip to fit under clips.
Overall I'm happy with how it looks so far. The fit on the corners seem good. Not too sure/happy with where the trim joins/overlaps. I'm reusing used/old clips, so not sure if they need squeezing or if gasket and windshield will push trim into better position? Are the 2 small fingers on the clip supposed to butt up against the body? Pretty sure they're mounted properly.
Thoughts?
Lots of pics lol
Thanks

Thoughts on clips for the bottom? There appears to be room to use either one. Black ones are new. They appear that they would hold trim "tighter" to body?

Well I drilled for 2 new clips, that was a fail. Gotta redrill and move them down. I tried to follow the contour of the cowl but that didnt work out. Got them both exactly the same lol

I’m dealing with something similar. This is the rear window going down the left side of a 71 Dart. Look how off the factory clip location is. Waiting for the weatherstrip so I can do a test run of the trim
