trying to find or advise to wire a different type of conncetor for drivers side front marker. Two of the same color wires go into the connector, I think green/white, and the side maker plugs in. Wires broken off right at base of connector so i cant repair it. Looks like this one but I cant seem to find them online??

Is it male/female bullet style connector??

yes, bullet connectors. The female side with the two wires going into is the broken part and the single male from the sidemarker plugs into it

Use a GM style weather pack connector...i rewired my whole car, and everything exposed I use the GM weather packs...they work extremely well.

these are my 2 front blinkers/running lights:

This is the single wire passenger side marker light, the housings ground to the body...

And here is what you need for ONE set of 2-wire weather packs: (the photo makes the male and female plastic housings look like singles, but they are double, side-by-side)

Thanks. Just what I was looking for. Question though, not much electrical knowledge. My side marker pigtail only has one wire and no ground wire on the housing?

That is correct. In '68, the round side markers in the fenders, and the quarter panels only had one hot wire. the light housings themselves are grounded to the body (fender, quarter panel)

but, whats confusing to me is, in the picture you provided, that is the drivers side fender marker? and you have 2 wires coming from/to it? if you look at my picture, my side markers are powered with 1 wire...

The picture I posted is an example of what I have. I have a female bullet with two of the same colored wires going in/out of it and is connected to wire harness. The side marker is a single wire male bullet that plugs into it and there is no ground wire. Both wires on the female side are broken off right at the base of the rubber housing of the female connector so there is no way to repair them. I will try to take some picture tonight of what I am dealing with.

I think you can buy that type of connector at NAPA or where ever. It comes as loop and you just cut it and adapt it to your wiring. Those gm weather packs are nice too.

GM Weatherpack connectors are great, but aren't cheap unless you rob junkyard cars and solder-heat shrink. You can find bullet connectors at most auto parts in the bubble packs. Use dielectric grease and no problems in dry Utah. You have 2 wires on the driver's side because one wire is the source and the other one continues to the passenger side marker lamp. Mopardude318's car probably splits the passenger wire off earlier.

So, I could connect the two wires together, crimp in a strandard weatherproof bullet connector and plug in the sidemarker?

Yes, the two connected wires go into the darker blue side to the left in your photo. Then the single wire to the sidemarker goes into the male bullet connector which plugs into the lighter blue side of the top/left connector
