Alright Mopar numbers gurus and white book owners, I am just wondreing what the key differences are between the two? Am I looking at badging, tail panel and the fender tag? Would it be listed as A53 if it was a 340-s? Are there other key differences? Just trying to get a handle on this specfic to the 1969 Barracudas. I am basing this upon the information provided here:

http://www.plymouthbarracuda.net/information/1969-barracuda-production.shtml

I have fender tag info, but I am hesitant about posting it. I will provide via PM if necessary, just drop me a line.

Given the differences between 67-69, I just need to know what I am looking for/at. I am confused due to the car having things that I think it should, but there are things that I think are missing.

Thanks, and I appreciate the assistance as always.

If you add the number of V8 cars with 225 engine total you will find that the numbers don't add up on your link.
There are great members on this site that can decode your fender tag but it would be very time consuming for them to post every possible option for you. You would have to email someone a picture if you want it decoded and what would be the difference of posting it here. It has to match the other VINs located on your car anyway. A crook deosn't need the information off your tag to creat a fake tag but again the VIN will tell if it was a slant 6, 318, 340, 383 or a 440 car.

I am pretty sure that A53 refers to the Formula S version, although I believe in 69 it had a 340-S emblem vs. a medalion on the fenders. A56 referred to the 'cuda340 package.

I have a 69 340-s, and they definitely have to have a53 on the f-tag, and like one of many said, there was no round fender medallion, it was a one year only style that said 340-s on both fenders. "S" also had hd suspension, dual exhaust, 8 3/4 rear end, 340 or 383. Mine has/had std drum brakes all around, no tach and std steering. Hope it helps.

Car has fender emblems, 340 auto, 120 speedo, standard brakes, dash vin and fender tag match. Blackout on the rear trunk finish panel, black grille surrounds. Red on Red with white top.

Fender Tag info (figured what would it hurt...)

Have not checked the block yet. 98% sure it is numbers matching. Will know when I see it in person on the 25th. Shippers coming 26th.
