My father and I know of a pretty rotten duster in a nearby junkyard. It has been there for years. Every time we were there I remember thinking what a shame it was. Here is what the car is"

1970 duster, orgional 340 manual car (drivtrain long gone). Color is burnt orange with a white top and white interior. Car has factory stripes across the tail, dont remember if it had stripes down the side. It has been picked over pretty well. I think all the glass is there, but I think other than that the body has been picked over pretty well. I dont think there is a useable panel on the car. No rear suspension, not sure on the front. No hood, grille, everything else is pretty beat up. Roof is very rotten because of vinyl top.

Ive never really looked it over other than externally to see if it could be saved, it just looks so bad. If the car had solid frames, I would say that it would be worth picking up, with all the replacement metal now. If the frames are rotten I would leave it where it sits. Is this a rare car? Would it be worth picking up if the price is right(which Im sure it would be). If my current description is too vague, then just imagine a car with doors fenders, quarters, tailpanel, roof and decklid all shot, missing alot of pieces. When spring comes around I think we are going to take another look at it, but just wandering what the rarity was.

Well its one of the more valuable Dusters out there. Pick it up if its not too rotted. You'll probably have to get another parts car to build it. Buying everything piece by piece will cost a lot of money. The good news is when you're done you'll have a nice $10k car. Just depends on how much it costs to get there.

Let's see some pictures when you can. Was a nice car originally and it being a 340 stick car makes it even better. Look for the vin tag and fender tag if it's still there. Those will tell what it was from the factory.

10k, is this a misprint? I can see it costing ALOT more than 10k in parts alone! If this is one of the more valuable dusters, what is considered the rarest? The biggest engine they came with was the 340.

Im not sure if it was a 3 or 4 speed car. Like you said, the tag will tell us what it is.

No I meant it'll be worth around $10k. Not cost $10k to build

I would agree with this! My advice run from this one and buy something you can drive and work on. If you have plans for a complete restoration you would again be able to buy a similar car for much less than the cost to restore already done.

I might waiver on my opinion if the car was complete and had original numbers matching parts or some sentiminal value.

If it's solid enough to build, has a VIN and fender tag, and you can get papers for it, I say try to save it. Someone out there would want to restore the car if you don't.

If it a orginal 340 "H" car it is rare, and with the white interior, I can honetly say I havnt seen one. I have a 340 1970 duster and it did have a factory strip down the side and the one around the tail lights. If the frame is in good shape I would pick it up

Jack up the fender tag and drive a car under it money ahead IMO.

You mean put the fender tag on another car? Isn't that illegal? It wouldn't do any good anyway. The VIN is on the fender tag so it wouldn't be hard for someone to tell if the fender tag wasn't right for the car.

I would say get the car if you can. They're not making 340 Dusters anymore and prices on them are only going up.
