70 dart 470 ci drag car build.

Nice work so far. It does seem to take forever. No need to remove the roof however, even though it does make it easier. We just set the cage down through the floor after all tacked in. Welded up as much from the top as we could. Set the cage back up on the under car bars and welded the rest from in the car.

That's a really nice job. How in the world do you get into that car lol ?
Thank you, I will be doing the next car differently. Build a chassis and set the car on top.
I had planned to cut the roof off since day one.
It was a vinyl top car out on the rainy Washington coast so it was in really bad shape.
I have a replacement in very good shape going back on asap.
I'm wondering if I need to gusset any of my bars even though I did weld all tubes fully around.

If you're going to hood scoop don't even f around.
Glorious period correct pro stock scoops.
I love it.

Lol

The tall 68 Hemi scoop would function and look way better.
We don't need no stink'n ugly scoops on a Mopar. :D
Save the ugly for the Chevy's and Ford's.
It's a Mopar scoop for 1970 pro stock. It's not ugly to me & I don't have a hemi lol. When the car is painted and done and you still don't like it well... your just going to have to learn to like it .

I know. lol

I run a tunnel ram on my car also and made my on custom Shaker on Steroids to make it all clear.

Man you have some nice stuff.
That is a really cool idea for a Shaker.
I will be turning this pro-stock scoop into a shaker also.... attached to a base & the carbs

Thank you. I. Made some chromoly tubular stanchions with pads that mount to the upper outer two rocker cover studs and then my base mounts to the stanchion pads by Dzus slide lock fasteners. I can take it off and put back on in like 10 seconds, unlike a factory Shaker... lol.

Today I got my **** done that I planned.
For the sake of spending money and time I installed another rocker bar in a lower spot.
I cleaned my rear frame rails, welded on plates for my upper shock mount bar. Thanks to Tim I probably put it in the right spot.
I also was able by alot of cutting to attach my narrowed frame rails to a panel in front of the rear valance seems sturdy.
I'll be adding several cross members and tying from the doors back to the frame using 1 by 2 & it will serve as my wheel tub attachments also.

Ratchet strap, mans best friend...if he doesn't have friends nearby.

Cage cert rescheduled for Sunday 10 am.
That will give me the day to make 120% sure it's going to pass.
